<p>I believe I just responded to another of your requests about
this same matter, so forgive me if I am repetitive. It sadly
doesn't appear that Univest brought over Valley Green's OFX direct
connect services when they were absorbed. The best way to get your
transactions into Moneydance is to use a web browser to download
them from your bank's web site. You can download into QFX,
QIF, OFX or OFC files (sometimes referred to as Quicken or MS Money
files), any of which will import cleanly into
Moneydance. You can also open your bank's download page
directly (after entering the appropriate address in the
Account->Edit Account menu) by going to the menu bar and
selecting Online->Open Account Website.</p>
<p>If your bank begins to support direct OFX connections in the
future, we will be happy to work with them.</p>
<p>Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thank
you for your interest in Moneydance.</p>

one o the choices I get is for OFX. Does that only work in one
direction?</p>

<p>Yes, downloading an OFX file only works in one direction and
doesn't allow you to do bill pay from within Moneydance.</p>
<p>I hope that clarifies! Please let us know if we can be of
further assistance!</p>

“If your bank supports direct connections it may also support
online bill pay.” Is there a way for that to happen, and if
so, using what protocol (that I can check with Moneydance
about).<br>
Thanks,<br>

<p>For a bank to support direct connection they have to put the
computer systems and software in place to facilitate this, software
like Moneydance can make use of these systems but ultimately it is
the bank that has to have the systems in place to make it work.</p>

not have this in place. They periodically review what they support
and will consider this in th next go-round, but I gather that this
is not a request they get too often (!), even though they know that
Quicken for Mac is not highly rated, even in its new version.
I’m bummed, but I haven’t threatened to switch banks
yet.</p>

<p>They'd have to set up an OFX server to allow direct connections
from personal financial managers, and also configure the server to
support bill pay (not all financial institutions that have "Direct
Connect" access from OFX servers support bill pay, so it's an
additional function on top of the OFX server).</p>
<p>I hope that helps! Please let us know if we can be of further
assistance!</p>

functions, so that maybe this functionality can be added in the
future. For now, I’ll just have to download from the
bank’s website to Moneydance and send electronic checks from
the bank rather than through Moneydance. :-(</p>
