Merrill Lynch Error Code 2000
Hi, I recently had to change my merrill lynch password, but once I changed my password for downloads into MD, I keep getting error code 2000. I am on MD 2021.1 (3069) using a Mac. I have Disabled Merrill Lynch download and added a new download, which caused the same error (which happens to be what they ask you to do on Quicken Help.) What else can I do? I can download a file from ML and import it into MD, but that is tedious and often results in duplicate or missed transactions.

Interesting clue maybe, when I look at the information MD captured when it set up the connection, it shows a URL I do not recognize and that I don't believe has any relation to Merrill: www.joineei.com. See the attached screen shot.

If on MD2021.1(3069) then install toolbox extension and run it. Advanced mode. Ofx tools. Option:
Delete OFX Banking Logon Profile / Service
This is better than disabling the profile.
May not solve your problem, but worth a try.
You can also look at ofx data and see if your stored password is correct.

HI Stu, thanks. The fourth task here is the one I want to do, right?

By the way, Stuart’s solution worked perfectly!
Thanks so much.

Hi Stuart, well I thought it worked perfectly for Merrill Lynch, but I’ve now got a different problem and I don’t know if you have any advice. I am able to download, however, I have 5 separate ML accounts. All five accounts receive downloads, however, the transactions are only from one ML account and the same transactions (from one account) download into all five of my accounts in Moneydance. The proper account numbers are assigned to each account in their set up in MD.
Any ideas?
Many thanks, Laura

I believe you need to rerun online setup and link the right accounts.
- Select one of the accounts on the left sidebar.
- Then, Menu>Online>Setup Online Banking>Make sure ML is selected in the dropdown
- Next>>>
- Then in the Account dropdown, make sure you have the right account selected
- Then continue and you should see a popup with accounts at the bank. Make sure you select the right one.
TEST
Repeat all steps for all accounts

Don't rush through the process. The list of accounts that you choose from has to come from the bank's server so it can take a little time to appear.
If you do rush through it Moneydance just associates the first account details that it receives.
This is the most common reason for the same account from your bank being linked to every account in Moneydance for that institution.
