Trying to set up Online Banking, but program is telling me it is an invalid id/password. However, I'm using the same sign on id/pw to sign on to the bank website. Is the TRIAL blocking me from setting up Online Banking/Bill Pay?

Ok. Well it is backing up and it says it’s removing old backups.

    —- backing up file...
    saving automatic backup file: C:\Users\Pat.moneydance\archive\backups\CKG17-17-02_2021-07-02_2021-07-03_2021-07-05_2021-07-08.2021-07-12.moneydancearchive
finished backing up file; now to remove expired backups...
    completed removal of expired backups
    —-

However, as we discussed before, I think you are opening your file wrongly. I see your file is called:
    CKG17-17-02_2021-07-02_2021-07-03_2021-07-05_2021-07-08

This implies you are doubling clicking the last backup each day and therefore restoring the last backup to become your live dataset. This adds the date to the name each time.

Hence, the backup counter will reset each time. I suspect that if you look at your backup files you will see that they are not actually the same names?

So, do not click a backup file to open your dataset. You either need to launch MD and let it open, or double click the actual live dataset file.

    Make sense?

Have the MD icon as a shortcut to the .exe file. Is this being the problem? Don't know any other way to open the file, but will take any suggestions to correct this problem. Can assure you that I'm not clicking on the backup file to open the program. Thanks for all your help, Stuart, really do appreciate it!

    Please launch toolbox..

Click the analyse dataset button and save the results to file, and post here...

Click the Open MD Folder button (top right), and then show config.dict folder, and then post that here too.....

Then in windows, right click the icon you are clicking, properties, screenshot that and post that here too

Ok, here are the screenshots you've asked for, just renamed them for easier id.

Hi. You didn’t post config.dict? Can you upload?

The name implies you restored on these dates from backups? Did you?
    2021-07-02
    2021-07-03
    2021-07-05
    2021-07-08

I suggest you close MD, find: C:\Users\Pat.moneydance\Documents\CKG17-17-02_2021-07-02_2021-07-03_2021-07-05_2021-07-08.moneydance

    And rename it to:
    C:\Users\Pat.moneydance\Documents\live_dataset.moneydance

Then double click the renamed file to open it. Then quit MD and restart MD normally and check it’s opened live_dataset ok. Then quit again and check you are getting new backup files. Let’s see if this name sticks going forward.

Followed instructions, no joy. Double clicking on the renamed file only opens it as a folder, not an .exe. ??

Ok. Just launch MD normally and at the welcome screen select the live_dataset. You might have to click other first. Then follow the rest of the procedure

Did that just b/4 receiving your last post. JOY, JOY, JOY to the world! It's working. Only thing I noticed in the backup directory is none of the old backups have been deleted. OK to just delete them manually?

Yup. Just make sure you are getting new backups with the new name first.

I'm thinking same backup will be used TODAY and then tomorrow another one will be added until it reaches 4, which I have set as the default.
Not enough accolades in my vocabulary to say how much I appreciated the assist in putting this thing to bed! You've been great (especially with your patience) and feel I may call on you again for further solutions to problems I may have. It's been a heck of a thread and am absolutely tickled to see it end. THANKS SO MUCH!

GLORY! Spoke w/BBVA rep on Saturday, I said all the correct wording about Quicken, and she carried me to "Bill Pay" on the banks site. There is one box that is named, "Preferred" that was not checked. After checking said box per her instructions, she stated to wait 24 hours and check back. Did, lo and behold, it worked. So now have Online Banking and Online Bill Pay operating as it should. Thread can be closed.
