The various securities and past couple of years of transaction history are already transferred into MD via a QIF file. So far so good.

The first time I connect to my financial institution (Fidelity), it pops up a window and asks if "INVESCO CORPORATE BOND FUND" matches one of these securities or "NONE OF THE ABOVE". I select Invesco Corporate Bond from the drop down and continue. So far so good. But now the problem starts...

I then get a truncated dialog that just has "Question" (see attached). I click the "X" to clear the dialog and it pops up again for about another 10 times. Then it goes back to the dialog where it tries to match the new downloaded security to any existing securities. Except that instead of giving me a security name such as "FIDELITY SHORT TERM BOND", it just gives a number like "09252M107", and so on for all remaining securities. For each one, since I can't figure out which number matches which security in my account, I select "NONE OF THE ABOVE."

I then have to go figure out which number matches which security, then go through the register and manually replace every instance of 0925M107 with FIDELITY SHORT TERM BOND, then delete the security 0925M107 from the account.

What's going on here and how do I fix it?

I'm using MD for Windows, Version 2021.1 (3069).

retailtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/493070842021-07-25T06:44:27Z2021-07-25T06:44:27ZNew Securities Showing as a Number

A quick Google says that this cusip listed is “BlackRock Total Return Fund Investor A Class Shares”. For now could you find the right names and link them when asked?

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/493070842021-07-25T13:01:28Z2021-07-25T13:01:28ZNew Securities Showing as a Number

I hadn't realized the number I was seeing was the CUSIP. That does help, thank you.

But these are just work-arounds. I'd like to find the 'real' solution. Normally MD puts up the fund name, not the ID and I'd like to get back to that. Seems like a bug to me.

The same thing happens regardless of financial institution or whether I get the data via direct connect or QIF import.

retailtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/493070842021-07-25T14:43:39Z2021-07-25T14:43:39ZNew Securities Showing as a Number

I agree. In the mean time, toolbox extension will allow you to manually add/link the cusip’s if needed.
