I am in the UK and I understand there is no direct link for the online banking but we can download from the bank and then import into moneydance? However, is there any demo's etc of what happens and how we then reconcile after this has happened, I am reluctant to do it as I do not know what will happen once I have, if there was a video or a demo I could see that explains it this would really help?

It’s easy. From your bank select the option to download txns or a statement as ofx (preferred), Microsoft money (ofx), or qif format.

    This will download a file.

In moneydance, file / export backup. Just in case.

Now drag the file into the left MD sidebar and drop carefully on the account in question.

When asked, carefully select the right account and import.

It will then create txns in your register. If you manually already created txns then you will see duplicates.

Click on a line with a blue dot. If there’s a duplicate, select merge. Repeat. If not a duplicate, edit the category and click confirm. This is the process to ‘accept’ the txns.

When all the blue dots gone, do reconcile. It will be the same process as before.

If all goes wrong. File, restore from backup.

Just try it and restore if no good.

    Hi Dean,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

I can see you’ve received a reply from one of our knowledgeable Moneydance customers. To add to this useful information I thought it's worth mentioning that you can find a section outlining the manual downloads and the confirmation process here.

Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.
