<p>Link one bank and one account account. Then match that.</p>
<p>Then link the same bank and add another account with md+ and then match that. And so on.</p>
<p>This way you know at each step which is which.</p>
<p>The whole point of the md+/plaid link is that Plaid links (tokens) are somewhat anonymous so info is sparse. On my accts I see the last few digits displayed.</p></div>Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494323192021-10-12T22:50:00Z2021-10-12T22:50:00ZMatching Accounts in MD+ without "guessing"<div><p>did thanks for brining this up, I have the same issue. One bank, three accounts, and now way to tell which is which. There aren't any digits at all, absolutely no way to tell which account is which.</p></div>aaustintag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494323192021-10-12T23:00:16Z2021-10-12T23:00:16ZMatching Accounts in MD+ without "guessing"<div><p>@Stuart - how does that work for you? How do you link one account at a time (when there are multiple accounts) and know which one is which?</p>
<p>I'll admit I haven't done this yet, but everything I see shows picking a bank, and then a lot of accounts pop up, and you have to choose which one matches the account in MD.</p>
<p>(And I'm concerned about multiple logins, i.e. when you pick a bank, you probably need a login/password, right? I'd have four for chase)</p></div>dtdtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494323192021-10-12T23:06:53Z2021-10-12T23:06:53ZMatching Accounts in MD+ without "guessing"<div><p>i'll be testing this soon, but i've seen numerous others concerned about this.</p></div>dtdtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494323192021-10-13T09:07:00Z2021-10-13T09:07:00ZMatching Accounts in MD+ without "guessing"<div><p>@dtd - it's easy.... When you create a link with MD+/Plaid, you get your bank's logon screen and login yourself, then you select which account (using the bank's own web page), then when done, this new link will appear in the MD+ Match window unmatched.. At this point you match that account.. Then you do the same again for that bank, and repeat....</p></div>Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494323192021-10-13T11:59:24Z2021-10-13T11:59:24ZMatching Accounts in MD+ without "guessing"<div><p>@Stuart Beesley, yes it is easy until you have one bank with three accounts and zero detail for any of them. The screen shot has the name of the bank cropped out, but this is what folks like @dtd and I are getting.</p>
<p>@dtd I think I am going to create a dummy account, then have everything download to that, see which one it is and then put the right account to that, and then repeat for the other two. Then will delete the first account. Sucks, but will get it working.</p></div>aaustintag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494323192021-10-13T12:13:08Z2021-10-13T12:13:08ZMatching Accounts in MD+ without "guessing"<div><p>@aaustin. I think you missed the whole point of my post.... If you link one Bank in MD+ and only select ONE account within that bank to register (when in the Plaid webpage), then there will only be one account in the MD+ setup window.. Match that. Then repeat for the next account (within the same bank)...</p></div>Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494323192021-10-13T12:23:35Z2021-10-13T12:23:35ZMatching Accounts in MD+ without "guessing"<div><p>@stuart unfortunately my bank did not have the option to select on an account by account basis, actually neither of them did. But one bank came through with all six accounts and all detail around them, and then the other bank came through like that with zero detail.</p></div>aaustintag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494323192021-10-13T12:37:52Z2021-10-13T12:37:52ZMatching Accounts in MD+ without "guessing"<div><p>Unfortunate... All mine have this select/deselect option.. Thus as you say, map to a dummy account, download, see which it is, remap to the right account, reset sync date, download again....</p></div>Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494323192021-10-13T14:13:01Z2021-10-13T14:14:48ZMatching Accounts in MD+ without "guessing"<div><p>Just my 2 cents worth.<br>
I <em>think</em> it's a Plaid issue. MD+ is displaying what Plaid/your bank is providing.<br>
In my case, I have one login to my bank and 5 accounts. MD+ displayed all five with the account information from my bank. Very easy to match them up.<br>
Other institutions I've done don't display an account, but the description is enough for me to match.<br>
To confirm this I deleted the 'nickname' on my Chase account (on their website). When I relinked it in MD+, it just shows "Credit Card". It used to say the nickname I gave it.</p>
<p>IMHO, MD can't fix this unless there is other data in Plaid that Sean can use.</p></div>Dan Ptag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494323192021-10-13T15:31:40Z2021-10-13T15:31:40ZMatching Accounts in MD+ without "guessing"<div><p>@Dan P Love ya! You helped me to figure it out, if you have a nickname it will bring that through. So for my bank I nicknamed all my accounts and now they come through with those nick names. So not really a plaid issue, you just have to have nick names on all accounts :)</p></div>aaustintag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494323192021-10-13T15:37:31Z2021-10-13T15:37:31ZMatching Accounts in MD+ without "guessing"<div><p>Glad I could help.</p></div>Dan P
