Hi Dave

The following was posted by a expert user Stuart.

- you can register / activate up to 3 datasets with one md+ subscription. Each dataset will maintain its own separate md+ authorised links (you set them up again). Or
you can use the toolbox extension to transplant (export/import) a working md+ license into extra datasets. These will then reuse the already setup authorised md+ links.
Either way is no extra cost.

TOOLBOX PROCESS

In your data set where you have already set up Moneydance+ run the extension Toolbox.
Under TOOLBOX Options select ADVANCED MODE then HACKER MODE in each case follow the on screen prompts.

Then under MENU: Online Banking (OFX) Tools select Export your Moneydance+ (Plaid )settings to a file (for transplant). Click PROCEED and follow-on screen prompts.

In your data set that has not had Moneydance+ set up run the extension Toolbox.
Under TOOLBOX Option select ADVANCED MODE then HACKER MODE in each case follow the on-screen prompts.
Then under MENU: Online Banking (OFX) Tools select Import (‘transplant’) your Moneydance+ (Plaid) settings from a file (exported by Toolbox). Click PROCEED and follow-on screen prompts.

Now both data sets have Moneydance+ set up,

Hope this helps

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494663402021-11-01T22:39:28Z2021-11-01T22:39:28ZMoneydance+ fails after switching moneydance files

… what dk23 said!

It’s not clear if you are trying to get new md+ connections working in your business dataset - or something else. So perhaps you can expand?

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494663402021-11-08T22:06:22Z2021-11-08T22:07:43ZMoneydance+ fails after switching moneydance files

I am having this same issue. Like Dave, I have two Moneydance files - one for business and one for personal use. I got the very same error message when I tried to setup md+ for the second file after successfully setting up and using md+ with the first file.

In my case, the accounts are distinct between the two files so I am interested in the first of derekkent23's options:

you can register / activate up to 3 datasets with one md+ subscription. Each dataset will maintain its own separate md+ authorised links (you set them up again)

I would like to know how to do this. When I tried myself by:

switching datasets

clicking on menu > Online > Set Up Moneydance+

selecting "connect accounts"

to setup md+ for the second file/dataset I got the same error that Dave saw (attached).

What am I missing?

Thanks, Paul

paultag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494663402021-11-08T23:03:05Z2021-11-08T23:03:05ZMoneydance+ fails after switching moneydance files

Woohoo, that worked perfectly derekkent23! Thank you and Stuart! I had no idea about the Toolbox extension, it opens a whole new world of information and tinkering :-)

derekkent23's solution worked perfectly for me. To do it, you need to install a Moneydance extension called "Toolbox".

1 Click Extensions / Manage Extensions
2 Click the Available tab.
3 Scroll to the bottom where it lists Toobox.
4 Click Install.
5 Follow derekkent23's instructions.

Dave

dave.moneydancetag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494663402021-11-08T23:50:38Z2021-11-08T23:50:38ZMoneydance+ fails after switching moneydance files

Thanks for clarifying Dave. That works wonderfully.

I had misinterpreted the instructions, assuming that the Toolbox was only if you wanted the very same account connections, not that it would clone the connections and you could then edit at will in the second dataset.

derekkent23 you are a hero - suffice it to say that I wouldn't have worked this out for myself ::wink

paultag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494663402021-11-09T07:13:26Z2021-11-09T07:13:26ZMoneydance+ fails after switching moneydance files

Toolbox 🧰 +1 😃

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)
