This however has nothing to do with online banking, this is just a relationship in Moneydance.

Any account number you setup in Moneydance is just static information it is not used to create the linkages used in online banking.

If you are using Direct Connect for online banking you should be able to create a new connection for the new account, but when going through the set up take your time as at one point you nee to associate a account in Moneydance with one at your bank and to do this information must come from the Bank's server and this can take a little time eventually you should get a list of available accounts that allows you to choose which one to associate with the account.

If the new account is not listed that would more likely indicate that the account has not had direct connect enabled for it on the bank's end and you would need to follow whatever process they have to have it enabled.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494878692021-11-14T01:55:50Z2021-11-14T22:09:37Znew account

Thank you for responding. Perhaps I did not make myself clear. I already have an online banking account coupled to moneydance. I need to retain the information in this account for end of year tax purposes.
I need to create a different on line banking account for the new transactions. The new account cannot be a sub account to the previous - now inactive- account. However, every one of my attempts results in creation of a sub account which I am unable to set up. Every time I go to the process, I am sent again back to enter the credentials for the new account. (I have tried it many times with the same results). How do I set up a new account which is not a subaccount of the old one?
