How to know if a downloaded transaction was matched with a manual entry
Generally, it's my habit to manually enter all transactions so I know they are authentic. So, if a downloaded transaction is matched with my manual entry, then I assume it to be legit. If not matched with a manual entry, I give it more scrutiny. Is there a way to visually determine if a downloaded transaction was matched with a manual entry?

I assume you have the Automatically Merge Downloaded Transactions option enabled (Preferences -> Network tab)? If so, then I don't think there's a easy way to visually see this. In the latest versions, confirmed transactions will change from having a solid blue dot at the right of the description field to a blue but unfilled circle, but that would be the case whether they were merged or just confirmed without merging. I think one would have to right click on a transaction to Show Transaction Details and see if it has additional information in there stored in the background that it had to have received from a bank, like a specific timestamp, etc.
I think in your situation you probably want to turn off the option to automatically merge and manually go through the confirmation process (https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/kb/online-banking-and-bill-pay/c...). The automatically merge option is really only if you are certain the program will make the correct choice, which usually only happens if you have a lot of data in there already for Moneydance to base its suggestions on, and fairly regular spending. If there's any question about if a confirmation is right or not, it's probably better to add the human oversight back into the process.

Thank you! This was exactly what I needed, and even lets me choose from historical categories for the same payee. Excellent!
