Confirming downloaded/imported transactions

My bank (Wells Fargo) will select the most recent 90 days of transactions when I download transactions to a qfx file. When I start the process to confirm the transactions, Moneydance will start the match with transactions that are already cleared. The bank's webpage will allow me to set begin and end dates, which I didn't do in this case. Should Moneydance attempt to have me confirm already cleared transactions if I haven't set begin and end dates for the download or could something else be awry?

My Moneydance file was created with a Quicken QIF file and I manually cleared all the transactions when the file was created. Since then I have entered new transactions manually (left uncleared) then began importing cleared transactions from the bank. My first attempt created a horrible mess but I made a backup and was able to restore the file (actually twice before I got it right). The process is less error prone if I set begin and end dates for the download. I had hoped that wouldn't be necessary.

    Hi,

You may choose to have Moneydance automatically merge downloaded transactions instead of going through the confirmation process if duplicates are downloading.
To enable this option, click File → Preferences → Network, and select “Automatically Merge Downloaded Transactions”. You can also specify "Only match downloaded transactions when they are at most 'X' days apart".

Thank you Jenny. I will try setting Automatic Merge and adjusting the match on 'X' number of days apart.

Great, let me know if you still encounter any issues after your next transaction download.
