"Withdrawal" and "Deposit" at the start of Description Field
I'm using Moneydance 2019.3 (1880).
When downloading transactions, my bank has started inserting at the start of each description field "Withdrawal" or "Deposit". This greatly complicates comprehending the actual payee or deposit information. Moneydance helps with this since when confirming transactions, Moneydance will usually list a "Similar Payee" that is the actual payee (or deposit info) without the unnecessary addition of "Withdrawal" or "Deposit" in front of the payee/deposit info.
Question: is there some easier way to handle deletion of the un-needed "Withdrawal" or "Deposit" - maybe some batch process that could operate on the download even before I see the content? Or something else?

Hi,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
Moneydance contains a feature called "Batch Change", which allows you to make changes to a single transaction, or multiple transactions at once.
Batch Change allows you to make changes to the Description, Check#, Memo, Tags, Category, and Account fields in the register.
For further details about this function, please refer to this article in the Knowledge Base.
When using the Batch Change option, the accounts list will show only accounts containing the same currency as the account you want to move transactions from.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have further questions or need any assistance.

Possibly the Find and Replace extension would be the easiest way of removing the unwanted text from the description field. There is no way of pre-processing automatically downloaded data.

Thanks to both. I'll try those options.
