HI!
I currently use Mint with Github API.

I want to know if the following can be accomplished using MoneyDance.
1. I need automatic download of the transactions in to a spreadsheet. I would not mind if I have to do some Selenium programming, but should be doable.
2. Same for balances in a spreadsheet for all the accounts.
3. Would the downloaded balances have Current balance or available balance. Mint shows both.
4. Would the transactions be including unposted also? For example, in the Mint.com, when I download the transactions in the morning, It downloads only those transactions which were posted yesterday. Today's transactions which are NOT in the current balance, but are in available transactions, do not get downloaded.
Your reply will be helpful in my signing up.
Thanking you in anticipation.

    Hi Jay,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

If you haven't already, I encourage you to download our free trial version and experiment with the program. You can download the trial version of Moneydance from our website on this page.

The trial version is fully functional and allows you to manually enter 100 transactions. Imported transactions are not limited, so you'll be able to fully test downloading data from your bank, and importing data from other personal finance software.
If you decide to purchase the program at a later date you can keep all data you have entered during the trial period.

You can find the Moneydance knowledge base here which will be useful if you're using the program for the first time.

    More in detail:

    1. I need automatic download of the transactions in to a spreadsheet. I would not mind if I have to do some Selenium programming, but should be doable.

The extension Extract Data version 1020 is available from Extensions->Manage Extensions->Extract Data
This extension is a useful tool aiming to extract your data to screen/csv. Options incl: 'StockGlance2020' investments, Reminders, Account / Investment transactions, Currency History; Attachments.
So, you can download your data to excel where you can filter, sort etc.

    1. Same for balances in a spreadsheet for all the accounts.

You could use the Account Balances report, as outlined here Moneydance can save reports in HTML, Comma Delimited, or Tab Delimited.

    1. Would the downloaded balances have Current balance or available balance. Mint shows both.

In Moneydance you can choose which Side Bar balance to display from your Preferences.
    The options are:
Balance - The total of all your transactions in an account register, regardless of date or cleared/uncleared status.

Current Balance - The total of all your transactions up to and including today's date.

Cleared Balance - The total of all transactions you have marked as "cleared.”

    1. Would the transactions be including unposted also? For example, in the Mint.com, when I download the transactions in the morning, It downloads only those transactions which were posted yesterday. Today's transactions which are NOT in the current balance, but are in available transactions, do not get downloaded.

It depends on which method you are using for downloading your data, OFX service or Moneydance +.
Most banks only offer the most recent 30-90 days of transactions on their direct OFX connection server.
Using the Toolbox extension, you can set the start date for your downloaded transactions.
Using Moneydance +, if you choose the Reset Sync Date entry, Moneydance will prompt you upon the next download to select how far back in time you'd like it to request transactions. How far back the transactions actually go is dependent upon the bank and/or their service provider, but Moneydance will request whatever date you specify.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.
