Paid stopped syncing Amex on 3.31.2022
Is there a problem with Plaid Moneydance + as it will not download American Express past March 31. I tried to connect another way but it keeps defaulting to Moneydance +, perhaps since Amex is classified as a credit card, thus cannot use the alternative method of connecting. At any rate, what is up with Plaid on Amex, it works ok (albeit only once a day or every other day) but not with Amex?

Please delete this discussion/question. I have solved the issue. My advice to all is to use the CSV extension and manually download periodically. I think Plaid is best for banking and investing, not good for credit cards. I find I want to stay more current on credit cards. by using the CSV extension, I can keep it more up-to-date with current information. Plaid too slow. Better to make sure you record all transactions in MD phone app, never depend on Plaid for latest information, just too slow and too infrequent of refreshes.

Hi David,
We are sorry to hear about the problem you have encountered.
Can you try upgrading to the latest preview version, as this should hopefully fix the problem for you?
Moneydance 2022.3 (4070) is now available to download from this page.
For a full list of improvements in the preview version, please refer to this page.
After running the update, you should try removing and recreating the connection.
In order to achieve this navigate to Online menu->Moneydance+ Set up and where it reads "Connected" on the right, click and select disconnect in the popup. Restart Moneydance, then try to recreate the connection as outlined here.
Please keep us posted on your progress, Thank you!

I downloaded the new version and it blew away my CSV Importer. Worse, it will not allow me to reinstall. I click install and it just sits there, does not install. Help!!

just a user - I have no idea, but I note the following about 4070:
* Minor increase to extension restrictions
Just a thought, as again, I have no idea.

@David
As reported on this public thread, there was a temporary issue downloading data from Amex that seems to have cleared itself.
In regards to the CSV importer issue, could you try upgrading to the latest preview version? Moneydance 2022.3 (4071) is now available to download from this page.
Please keep us posted on your progress, Thank you!

I upgraded to 2022.3 (4071) but when I am in 'Manage Extensions', I enter 'Install' for 'CSV Importer' and it briefly shows 'downloading' but that's it, never appears as an 'installed extension'. However, I only use 'import from CSV' for checking account after downloaded CSV file from bank, and when I do this, it must have retained what I had previously setup on earlier version of MD, as it works perfectly. So bottomline, not an issue for me. Informatively: I use the CSV file import for checking account (for timeliness), I download a 'quicken format' file for AMEX and VISA. I only use the Plaid MD+ for investments, since Schwab will not download quicken-format investment file, and since investments don't work properly in a table-like CSV file, I just live with the extra day delay in booking investment transactions, which I have learned to live with, not a big deal...

In 4071, Custom Balances Extension would not load; I mentioned this to Stuart Beasley and he fixed it. I don't know who the author of CSV Importer is or even if it is still supported, but something changed in regards to extensions starting with 4070, best I can tell.

David. After CSV importer fails to work, grab the help/console and post that output here.

@stuart - I think you might mean "fails to install or fails to show up" - as David says the extension still "works", he just can't see it. otherwise, yes help/console.

Yes. Fails to show up means it’s crashed (probably) and console should highlight the issue.

The CSV importer is by Stan Towianski but I have not seen him post in a long time.
I think Sean may have a copy of the code though.

Yup 4071 has broken the extension. The error is this:
The java code has been changed from:
public int getBuild()
to
public final int getBuild()
thus preventing it from being extended... I don't know why you would anyway, but clearly the extn is trying to..?
So, the author will have to fix and resubmit....
