So, do you have a good 'primary' / master dataset that you can restore/use?</p></div>Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/539876222022-04-24T19:54:40Z2022-04-24T19:54:40ZStrange GUIDs appearing in accounts list, seem to be corrupting accounts<div><p>I restored from an archive from last month, but the GUID account is still there. Then I "showed" all the accounts in the left NAV bar. This seems to have had a positive effect on the affected accounts. Many of them seem to be "parented" to this GUID account. I edited these accounts to reparent them to the "base" account, which also seems to clear these accounts up (their balances reconcile now).</p>
<p>I would like to re-enable sync, but I am afraid. It seems like it would be better if I could start a fresh DropBox sync uncontaminated by history. Does that sound reasonable? How would I go about clearing/deleting all previous history of MD DropBox syncs?</p></div>Milo Chantag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/539876222022-04-24T20:01:46Z2022-04-24T20:01:46ZStrange GUIDs appearing in accounts list, seem to be corrupting accounts<div><p>You need 🧰. Install/run toolbox extension. Enable hacker mode. Click hacker button. Select force reset sync. You can then setup sync again.</p></div>Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/539876222022-04-24T20:16:55Z2022-04-24T20:16:55ZStrange GUIDs appearing in accounts list, seem to be corrupting accounts<div><p>Ps. If toolbox says you are running as secondary, and if this is a primary dataset, then also enable advanced mode and click promote to primary too.</p></div>Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/539876222022-04-26T00:36:32Z2022-04-26T00:38:58ZStrange GUIDs appearing in accounts list, seem to be corrupting accounts<div><p>Thanks. I promoted to primary and reset sync. I think it is syncing now (I hope... is there any way to check status?).</p>
<p>When I start MD Toolbox, I get a "detected multiple dates" warning. What does this mean and should I try to fix this?</p>
<p>And did I say "Thanks"? This toolbox seems amazing ... and scary!</p>
<p>Also, I am not opening MD by double-clicking on anything. I'm starting it normally. However, after promoting my current file to primary, the name of the dataset is still long and convoluted, something like "Milo Chan 2021-11-23_2022-04-15.moneydance". Is it safe to simply rename the file?</p></div>Milo Chantag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/539876222022-04-26T05:10:32Z2022-04-26T05:10:32ZStrange GUIDs appearing in accounts list, seem to be corrupting accounts<div><p>… it means exactly what it says…? The name on your dataset, with what looks like lots of dates in the name, implies you keep opening backups which restores datasets, and then you do the same again….? It’s not necessarily a problem. Depends how you are working.</p></div>Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/539876222022-04-26T05:10:49Z2022-04-26T05:10:49ZStrange GUIDs appearing in accounts list, seem to be corrupting accounts<div><p>Toolbox 🧰 +1 😃</p></div>Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/539876222022-04-28T11:02:45Z2022-04-28T11:02:45ZStrange GUIDs appearing in accounts list, seem to be corrupting accounts<div><p>I'm an idiot... I misread the alert to say "Detected multiple dates in dataset file", not "filename". I renamed the primary dataset.</p>
<p>I seem to have one remaining bit of weirdness in my dataset. There is one account with a GUID name, "42465db3-38fd-4077-9795-6bb4a582f2e0". It shows no transactions when I display it, but I'm afraid to delete it, in case it messes with other account balances. Can I use Toolbox to analyze it further? :-)</p></div>Milo Chantag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/539876222022-04-28T11:29:19Z2022-04-28T11:29:19ZStrange GUIDs appearing in accounts list, seem to be corrupting accounts<div><p>There's no need.. If you go into that account and there are no transactions, then you can delete it... MD will stop and warn you if it finds transactions.... If it does, then STOP and come back here...</p></div>Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/539876222022-04-28T15:54:15Z2022-04-28T15:54:15ZStrange GUIDs appearing in accounts list, seem to be corrupting accounts<div><p>Beautiful... I was able to delete that last weird account and all accounts still reconcile. Thanks so much for your assistance!</p></div>Milo Chantag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/539876222022-04-28T15:56:32Z2022-04-28T15:56:32ZStrange GUIDs appearing in accounts list, seem to be corrupting accounts<div><p>👍</p>
