Ledger Balance

Why doesn't OFX download's bring the edger balance from the Bank with the other info. ? Is it a setting I'm missing or the Bank?

   Well it does/can. So perhaps depends on what your bank is sending?

   You can set the 'Initial Balance' (sometimes referred to as a starting or opening balance) when creating an account. This can also be altered at any time as outlined in this article of the Knowledge Base.

   Thanks for the response.
   You notice this has all $0.00 this is from my Charge card account I use it when I travel instead of my bank card I pay it off on the return or when I can.
   The other is the Credit Union $222.63 but no Ledger balance.
   The Ledger balance doesn't change stays at $0.00. With the credit card the starting balance would be $0.00 but doesn't change when I'm using my charge. If I add a beginning balance to the Credit Union at this point why would it start showing in the Ledger and not use the current balance?

   The Ledger Balance is the balance provided by the bank. This includes all “outstanding” transactions such as deposits that are still pending clearance.

   If you notice on the CreditUnion.png Ledger Balance shows $0.00 but should show $322.63 the Cleared Balance the Ledger balance and Available balance should be the same in this instance. I have $100.00 on a outstanding check that gives me the Current Balance of $222.63.
      Is it the bank not sending the Info. or is it a setting I'm missing?

   There is no setting, one suspects the Bank is not sending that piece of data but only an analysis of what data is being sent/received could confirm that.

   According to the IT dept. for the Credit Union, the OFX downloaded files contain a balance but he isn't sure why MD isn't recognizing it. He thinks it might be there is only one balance in the OFX file and MD is looking for two.
   It's not a big deal I just need to remember to write it down.
