Chase Communication Error

How do I resolve this?

There was an error communicating with your financial institution. The details of this error are below.
Bank Name: Chase
The error code reported by the server was: 2000
USER NOT AUTHORIZED TO ACCESS THE SYSTEM WITH THIS APPLICATION

    Hello,

    Have you contacted your bank to enable your accounts for direct connections? Many financial institutions will require you to enable your accounts for application-based online banking. You can accomplish this by asking your bank to set up your account for direct connections from Quicken. Moneydance uses exactly the same OFX server connection protocol as Quicken but your bank representative may not know this and mistakenly believe that you can not connect in Moneydance. Calling up your bank and stating precisely the following should get you started. "Please enable direct connect on my account such that I can connect to your servers directly with Quicken. Also give me the login credentials I need to connect Quicken to this service."

    Application-based online banking often requires a different login/PIN than the ones that are used for ATM or web-based banking. When you enable your account for access from Moneydance or Quicken, your financial institution should let you know what customer ID/login and PIN to use.

    Unfortunately this is only available thru my bank for a fee of $10/month.
    Which I am not interested in doing.

    Is there any way my purchase of Moneydance can be refunded? It isn't what I
    expected.

    I would be happy to authorize a refund and I am inclined to offer you technical assistance first. This is not an attempt to get out of giving you a refund, if that is what you want let me know and I will authorize it today. However if there is something specific you believe that I might be able to assist you with I am at your service.

    It is unfortunate that some banks want to charge their customers to access their accounts through this method, but we unfortunately have no control over this. Just to make sure you're aware, you can still get your transactions into Moneydance by using a web browser to download them from your bank's web site. You can download into QFX, OFX, OFC, or QIF files (sometimes referred to as Quicken or MS Money files), any of which will import cleanly into Moneydance. You can also open your bank's download page directly (after entering the appropriate address in the Account->Edit Account menu) by going to the menu bar and selecting Online->Open Account Website.

    If that solution won't work for you, let me know and we can go ahead with the refund.

    I did download my bank files and add them to Moneydance. However they did
    not download correctly and my balance showed overdrafts on several
    occasions, which is not accurate. And I don't want to have to do that
    everytime a new transaction is posted.

    Again, I should have done my homework first (on my bank's end), but I would
    like to request a refund of this product.

    I am sorry that our product did not meet your needs. I have asked our payment processing partners BMT Micro to process your refund. They will let you know when the process is complete from their end.
