Keep getting error code 2000 when auto-downloading transactions from Bank Of America
We changed our Bank of American password recently and now we can't get MoneyDance to access and automatically download our account transactions. Error Code 2000 continues to pop up even after we change Bank of America password in MoneyDance. We have no problem signing into Bank of America with our new password, we just keep getting this error code 2000.
We have been using Bank of America Online Banking for the last 8 or 9 years.
Pulled up MoneyDance Help - We have tried to change password in MoneyDance via: selecting tab "Online" > "Setup Online Banking." Your instructions say to select "Connect to OFX Service" and then choose my financial institution from the list. We do not have a "Connect to OFX Service" selection and do not get a list of financial institutions.
We do not want to select "New Connection" option as Bank of America is not accepting new connections, as state in your instructions.
We must be doing something wrong and need assistance to resolve this issue.
Thank you for your kind assistance in advance.

just a user - first, it sounds like you are doing all the right things, especially since BA isn;t accepting new connections, as you obviously know.
That's about it, I just have encouragement.

I'm a fellow user.
Not accepting new connections is not related to the new connection option in Moneydance rather it means that BoA are not accepting new requests to sign up for their Direct Connect service. A new connection in Moneydance means not using what has been cached/stored by your copy of Moneydance locally but to get the bank connection information afresh from Moneydance's server.

Hi, I am still having problems with error code 2000 in Moneydance.
I left off that I can manually download transactions with no problems. This
is sometimes a bit tricky as we have to enter a custom date, vs selecting a
time period, so we don't get duplicate transactions. Then it is more
difficult to balance our accounts sometimes as we may still get a stray
duplicate transaction or two when downloading manually.
We'll keep at it. I do have one question. Is the server that is generating
the error code 2000 coming from Bank of America's server, or Infinite
Kind's server interfacing with Bank of America's server? Knowing which
server generates the error code 2000 would help in running down a solution.
Thanks again for your help!
John

Moneydance responds with the result from the bank. 2000 means the bank did not respond, so technically one could say MD generated it, but the generation is that the bank did not respond and 2000 is the error code.

Error code 2000 is coming from BoA's OFX server.
Error 2000 is a General Error it often means that your account has not been enabled for Direct Connect access, well this is what we have found most often.
