TD Bank Error Code 2000

About two weeks ago, Moneydance failed to download transactions from TD Bank. At that time MoneyDance showed an error massage indicating that the file server reported error code 2000. After this error persisted for several days, I attempted to disable and reenable online services for TD Bank Accounts. I have contacted TD Bank and they confirm that MoneyDance is presenting the correct information, mirroring Quicken 2018. All efforts to reestablish online connectivity have had the same results - configuration is accepted, but when attempting to download data the following message is displayed:

"There was an error communicating with your financial institution. The details of this error are below.

Bank Name: TD Bank Online Banking

The error code reported by the server was: 2000

Something didn't connect when we tried to access your TD Bank accounts. Please log in to TD Bank Online Banking at www.tdbank.com and follow any prompts to resume access."

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I neglected to say that I followed the steps in "Connecting to TD Bank" and everything was as expected except the last step that states "This time it will work."

    Hi Gary,

We are sorry to hear about the problem you have encountered.

The error 2000 that you are seeing often indicates that Direct Connect requires re-enabling at the bank's end. Since you have already tried doing that we could try a different approach now.

Please navigate to Extensions->Manage Extensions and install the Toolbox.
Launch Toolbox and navigate to Toolbox Options (on top left corner) and select -
Update Mode->Yes->Do Back Up Now (recommended). Then, navigate to Menu: Online Banking (OFX) Tools (2nd tab down).
In the resulting window, under Update Functions you should select :
Delete OFX Banking Service / Logon profile (remove_one_service.py)

Finally, restart Moneydance and recreate the connection as outlined here.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

    HI Maddy,

I just tried this and it didn't resolve the issue with TD Bank. I suspect the source of the problem is on TD Bank's end, not my or Gary's end.

    My best,

    Robert

And, now, right when I was on the phone with TD Bank to complain, it's working properly. Maybe after following those instructions, it just took a few minutes for the deletion and recreation of the online banking profile to kick in. Or, I had to open Moneydance, quit it and open it a couple of times to trigger everything.

All I know is that it's working now. I ain't gonna question it. :)

As Robert said, there is apparently a time factor involved. I was about half way through documenting that the process did not work, when suddenly it did. Thank you, Maddy..

I finished the saga below in case there is any useful information in it for anyone else.

    Gary

In trying to troubleshoot, I created a new file and attempted to connect to TD Bank in the new file. Before that, I logged into TD Bank and removed the linked applications. I have four accounts, two of which are checking. I tried to connect both checking accounts. Both accounts set up the TD Bank linked services permissions and I enabled both on the TD Bank website.

Although the linked services were activated, when I went back to MeneyDance and tried to set up online services (selecting new connection), I would get errer 2000 after entering my password. On the third or fourth try, MoneyDance suddenly connected to TD Bank.

I returned to my primary file and again tried to set up online banking. The first account connected. For the following three accounts, when I used New Connection, the setup failed. When I used the dropdown to pick the financial Institution, after providing the password, I received an error 2000, but after closing the error box, the setup proceeded normally and MoneyDance is again able to download the transactions.
