Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

To achieve this you should open Moneydance and select your account. Choose Online --> Setup Online Banking. This will open a window that displays your current connection details for this account. Choose 'Change PIN' where you'll enter your existing login credentials, and input your new username as required.

Please note: Application-based online banking often requires a different login/PIN than the ones that are used for ATM or web-based banking. When you enable your account for access from Moneydance or Quicken, your financial institution should let you know what customer ID/login and PIN to use.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thanks for your interest in Moneydance!

When connecting with my bank for bill payment or download of new transactions, I'm presented with a screen for entering my password. On this screen, the original, older username if already filled in. In order to connect, I must erase that username and enter the new one, along with my bank online password. This longer approach works, but I'd like for the default, pre-filled username to be my new username, not the older one.
Hope you can help. Thanks.SH

Moneydance has passwords that can be set to open up your data files, it can save username/password combinations that are used to download your bank transactions. But Moneydance does not have a usernames as such for itself.

I do not think we are understand exactly what you want to change.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/553086022022-08-12T01:43:14Z2022-08-12T01:43:14ZUsername Change

Sorry, I meant 'User ID', not 'User Name'.When I do "Online - Download WF Bank Transactions", a pop up window asks for my my WF user ID and password. This is the same User ID and password I use when accessing my WF account online by going to the WF website directly (without using MoneyDance.)The Money Dance pop up window shows my old User ID pre-filled. I want to change that so that it shows my new WF User ID pre-filled instead.(This is a WF Bank user id, not a MoneyDance user id.)Sorry for the confusion and hope you can help me with this seemingly simple change. Thank you.SH

We normally just refer to passwords as that is what most people are changing. The Moneydance method of disabling and then going through the setup is the basic way of changing anything to do with connecting online, Moneydance itself does not provide any "editing" option, for such options Stuart often provides them in his Toolbox extension.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/553086022022-08-12T03:06:18Z2022-08-12T03:06:18ZUsername Change

As dwg says, my points work for user names/user ID too.

Do this, install / run toolbox extension.

Online banking tools menu.
Then ‘ View your installed Service / Bank logon profiles’

Redact NO

Then in this output, find where the MD info is wrong. Tell me what info is wrong. No need to tell me userid etc.

I’ll then point to the fix.

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)
