Chase/MD+ One day delayed downloads?
I switched over to MD+ since Chase stopped accepting connections from Moneydance. But now I'm seeing pending transactions delayed by at least a day. Normally transactions that were pending over the weekend would download on Tuesday. But as of today (Wednesday 10/12) I still have zero transactions downloaded. When I look at the console I can see transactions being downloaded but they are still marked as "pending" so they are not entered into the register. The same transactions appear on the Chase site, but at Chase the pending status has been removed and they show up as regular transactions (as they should).
Anyone else seeing this behavior??

Hi,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
Usually after Plaid acquires your transactions from the bank, it may take some time before they are ready. Plaid will download the transactions in the background and then when they are ready, Moneydance can download them. For this reason, at times there could be some delays but this doesn't necessarily mean there is a problem with the connection.
That being said, you could try to select the Online->Setup Moneydance+ menu, then click on an account (not the bank name) in the right column you should see a popup menu. If you select the Reset Sync Date entry, Moneydance will prompt you upon the next download to select how far back in time you'd like it to request transactions. How far back the transactions actually go is dependent upon the bank and/or their service provider, but Moneydance will request whatever date you specify.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

Hi Maddy. I don't expect that resetting the sync date will have any positive effect. As I mentioned I can see the transactions being downloaded from entries in the console. I can also see that these transactions are being filtered out because they are markied as 'Pending"
What would be useful would be to collect experiences from the rest of the community to understand just how much delay Plaid and MD+ might be introducing. To do that, this topic needs to be marked public so others can respond. Thanks.

just a user - OFX responses are fairly immediate, but of course you cannot do that with Chase anymore.
MD+ responses (I have Chase 7 accounts, and 20 or so overall, so I can be fairly accurate) are usually 1-3 days slower. VERY occasionally, it can be 4-6 days depending on the bank.
This response from Maddy is accurate, but doesn't describe lengths:

Once you have everything set up properly and the only issue is delays, there is nothing much you can do but wait.
As to the resync date bit - that's really meant for those who don't have everything quite right and the sync date goes wonky, not for setups where everything is plowing along, but indeed, with delays in the process.
Hope that helps.

@dtd...Thanks for such a detailed and helpful response. The delays are annoying but, considering that I can no longer rely on Moneydance's bill pay interface (with Chase at least) it's not fatal. If I were scheduling billpay through MD+/Plaid the delays -- particularly the variability in the delays -- would definitely freak me out.
My bigger problem is that for my use cases - primarily tracking my checking and savings account activity and online billpay the forced move to MD+ strips much of the added value away from Moneydance. In the past, I only needed to visit the Chase site for transfers. Pretty much everything else was handled within MD. I'll need to re-think my process since I'll now be spending much more time on the Chase web site and proportionately less using Moneydance.
It's not IK's fault but this whole situation is a shame.

@jgreenb2
We completely understand your position and that of so many other customers who use this feature regularly. Unfortunately Moneydance + doesn't support Online Bill Pay at the moment as outlined here.
That being said please stay reassured that the development team are currently working to find a suitable replacement to allow our customers to use a similar service in the future.
We have created a ticket in our system for this issue and I have attached it to this discussion now. By posting in this discussion your interest in the ticket has been registered. This is equivalent to voting for it. We will post on this thread as soon as there are further developments on this topic.
