I am receiving a connection issue when attempting to sync my checking and savings accounts. Has Wells Fargo also stopped the direct connection to Moneydance just as Chase has discontinued its access?

The link and instructions only go as far as clicking on the "Ok" button. Once you are sent the verification code it asks you to click on an "OK" button. Once you click on it Wells Fargo immediately logs you out with a "Thank You" page.

just a user - as a person who does not use Wells Fargo, information usually comes from people like you. I think you are the second person who has asked this, so it may be a temporary glitch, or it may be "worse".

Discover, Chase, Bank of America were recent dropouts from Direct Connect, but it only became clear when enough people noticed and posted.

Well according to Wells, they posted that the customer using Quicken has to upgrade to continue using Web Connect. I copied and pasted the posting below for your review.

Wells Fargo is using a technology called Web Connect. This technology automatically launches Quicken, downloads account data into your check register, and matches any transaction you’ve already entered into your register.

Choose an account for which you would like to receive transaction activity.
Click Download Account Activity and complete the required information.
Then follow the directions below based on your software type. For information on supported and retired versions of software, please refer to our software retirement guide <https://www.wellsfargo.com/online-banking/software/quicken-retirement/>.

Quicken:registered: and QuickBooks:registered: Desktop Software Retirement

    When to upgrade

As the maker of Quicken and QuickBooks Desktop (Intuit) moves toward improving its products, services, and security, the retirement of older versions of software is necessary. Generally we support the most current year plus two previous years of software. This ensures that resources are available to bring you the best possible products and customer service.

To continue to integrate Wells Fargo Online:registered: and Bill Pay with Quicken or QuickBooks Desktop, you will need to upgrade to a more recent version of software to avoid an interruption in your service. By upgrading to a more recent version, you will continue to have access to the following service features:

    Downloading account transaction history
    Transferring funds to another account1
Scheduling one-time and recurring bill payments
Making changes to scheduled bill payments

Yep - this appears they've disconnected OFX direct connect as they point you to Quicken's proprietary Web Connect, and also show they've discontinued OFX bill pay by directing you to Quicken Bill Pay.

So, the jury is still out, but this definitely doesn't look good for Wells Fargo OFX.

Have no idea if MD+ will work with Wells Fargo, but someone should use the free trial and check it out. (not saying you, necessarily)

I didn't follow any of the links posted but OFX is not mentioned anywhere in the posting quoted above. I was a long time user of Quicken and that was always standard procedure--after 3 years I was required to upgrade if I wanted to continue using Quicken Bill Pay.

Having said that, though, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if it turned out that WF is indeed shutting down OFX. I was one of the many here affected by Chase's (silent) decision to shut down OFX. Now I see BofA is following--I think the writing is on the wall and those that are switching banks in protest are going to be sorely disappointed after all their efforts.

@dtd Wells Fargo works with MD+ (with a robust security setup).
