I'm switching from Quicken to Moneydance, and have been unable to download my financial information because Affinity is refusing to recognize my password. I'm using the same password which I use to access my account information online, and it works just fine there! I called yesterday for help, but was unable to get this working directly through Moneydance.

Just so you know, when looking up banks on the Moneydance website, it clearly shows your bank. I'm able to download the data using OFX which requires me to go to the Affinity account online, but when trying to do it directly, it doesn't work.

I was under the impression that I was sending an email for teach help from Affinity. What is all this about?

    Hi Judith,

This is the Moneydance support website. You would have to go to the Affinity website in order to get support from them. However, since you're already here, let's see if I can help you get connected.

What is the website address of the bank you are trying to connect to? There are a few called Affinity, and I want to make sure we're talking about the same one.

Many financial institutions will require you to enable your accounts for application-based online banking. You can accomplish this by asking your bank to set up your account for direct connections from Quicken. Moneydance uses exactly the same OFX server connection protocol as Quicken but your bank representative may not know this and mistakenly believe that you can not connect in Moneydance. Calling up your bank and stating precisely the following should get you started. "Please enable direct connect on my account such that I can connect to your servers directly with Quicken. Also give me the login credentials I need to connect Quicken to this service."

Application-based online banking often requires a different login/PIN than the ones that are used for ATM or web-based banking. When you enable your account for access from Moneydance or Quicken, your financial institution should let you know what customer ID/login and PIN to use.

I'm trying to set up with Affinity Federal Credit Union (I think in
Basking Ridge NJ). I already called Affinity TWICE requesting password/pin
for Quicken OFX download ... they are clueless! Had no idea what I was
    asking for. :-(

    Hi Judi,

Try logging in using your Member ID as the username and your PIN as the password. I think that might allow you to connect.

I finally got someone at the bank to get my account straightened out ....
all except for my credit card data, but I at least have the name of someone
    knowledgable!

I finally connected with someone at the bank who was able to help me set
the password/pin to access my account information.
Now I have another problem. I'm unable to figure out how to print a
check. I followed the manual instructions (pg 40), but after filling in
the date, payee, amount, etc. and listing the check# column as (print), I
got the message that there were no checks to print! Why didn't it print?
I ended up having to write a check by hand -- something I haven't done for
    years!

Can you try upgrading to the latest preview release of Moneydance from here:

    http://infinitekind.com/preview

and see if that fixes the issue that you're seeing with check printing?

I am at a total loss as to how to set the checks for printing . As far as
I can tell, I can only adjust vertically and not horizontally when trying
to calibrate! These instructions are REALLY awful. I never had this
problem when calibrating my checks with Quicken.

    Hi Judi,

Can you send me a screenshot of your check printing settings, as well as a sample PDF file of what the printed checks look like? You can read instructions for taking a screenshot from here:

Never mind, after struggling for 5 days, I finally gave up on Moneydance
and went back to Quicken! Thanks anyway.
