Wells Fargo quit working and I can't get it back
Hi, I keep getting connection errors to Wells Fargo and can't resolve it. It's worked fine for years, then suddenly I get communication or parsing errors. I've tried disabling the connection and creating a new one, but I get the error below after I select Wells Fargo Bank to connect to. I don't have any problems connecting to American Express. Thank you!

More info here - I did do the whole login to Wells Fargo and they send me a code and I have 10 minutes, and then it did proceed to see my account numbers, but when I try to download transactions, I get this error:

Account Number: xxxxxx (my correct number does show)

just a user - IF this is a brand new event, Wells Fargo may just be down for the Thanksgiving weekend and will reappear next week (cross fingers)
That said, there have been a lot of banks changing the way you can connect to them, and so if this continues for a while (4-5 days), then there may be a more significant issue.

Thank you for responding - but it’s no new, I’ve been using Wells Fargo for years and this has been a problem for weeks. I’ve “forgotten” the connection and redone it several times including getting a new code from Wells Fargo but no success.

Hi Leslie,
We are sorry to hear about the problem you have encountered.
Could you send us the contents of your error console? The log should provide more information about what is causing the problem. Here's how to get the logs:
1) In Moneydance, click on the Help menu and select the Console Window option. This will open the console messages window.
2) While the Console Window is open, attempt to connect to your bank. Any error messages should be recorded to the Console.
3) Select all of the text in the Console and use the "Copy to Clipboard" button at the bottom to copy the text.
4) Paste the text from the message window into a text file (preferably saved with a .txt extension) and attach that file to your response here.

Hi, I apologize for taking so long to see this message. I do continue to get this error, even though I’ve deleted the setup and redone it, including getting the code from Wells Fargo anew.
When I opened the Console menu, I didn’t get a lot of new info in the console window, but my error message window had expanded information, so I’m including both the expanded error message and the console window info.

1) The version of Moneydance you are running is rather outdated and we would recommend upgrading.
According to our records, your license key was purchased for use with Moneydance 2019, and it's also valid for use with Moneydance 2020 and 2021.
a) You can download and install Moneydance 2021 from this page and use your existing license key to register the program.
b) you could upgrade to the latest version Moneydance 2022, this will require you to purchase a new license key.
If you wish to go ahead with the upgrade, simply enter your current license key here and you will receive a 50% discount. A new license key will be sent to you within 24 hrs form purchasing the upgrade.
2) Your logs are showing a Padding error that can be resolved:
After upgrading and resolving the Padding issue, you should recreate the connection with your bank. You will need to disable your current connection and then recreate it by navigating to the Online Banking Setup screen. To do so, you can follow these steps:
Restart Moneydance.
