I'm very, very, very upset with Bank of America disabling OFX downloads to Moneydance. I've spent hours on the phone to voice my displeasure and find a solution from their end to no avail. So I'm force to pay you $2 a month for Moneydance+ to connect to Plaid (whatever that is). I paid for a Moneydance license ($49.99) on 3/23/2016. It seems you require that I have Moneydance 2022 to be able to setup the $2 a month connection fee. How do I get the newer version without buying a new subscription?

just a user - I think many of us are very upset with many banks disabling OFX (and those who used bill pay via that method even more so) - and not telling their users in advance.

You are not forced to pay $2/month for Moneydance+, it's an optional service that MD/IK set up, seeing this flight from OFX coming a while back. MD didn't want to do this either, but I'm glad they at least came up with a solution (the $2/month goes to Plaid, not MD)

So, yes - if you do want to use it, you have to upgrade - assuming you bought directly from Moneydance (vs. something like Apple or Microsoft) you can go to https://infinitekind.com/purchase
and go to the upgrade field and enter your key - given a 2016 purchase, you should be able to buy an upgrade for half-price....

As for Bank of America in particular - do they at least still have OFX manual downloads? I don't know, I don't use Bank of America, but if they do, I'm surprised they didn't mention it - but of course, given my earlier statement about seemingly all banks, I'm not surprised.

    Hope that helps.

    Hello,

I unfortunately don't have much to add to the good advice in the previous post. We have no control over the services banks offer to their customers. I know you're not the only one who has complained to Bank of America to have your concerns ignored.

The main reason we have worked on the Moneydance+ subscription service is to try to try to take into account these kinds of actions by banks. Unfortunately this function costs a significant amount of money, which is why we had to make it a subscription service.

You will need to upgrade to the 2022 version to sign up for the Moneydance+ service, since there's no way for us to add that service to older versions. You can with purchase a half-priced upgrade key to upgrade, or you can sign up for Moneydance at the $5/month subscription rate, which includes both the program and the ongoing Moneydance+ subscription.

Alternatively, you can download into QFX, OFX, OFC, or QIF files (sometimes referred to as Quicken or MS Money files), any of which will import cleanly into Moneydance. It's rare that banks completely eliminate these downloads from their websites.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,

    Ethan
