MD+ transition: recovering Bank of America payee list?
Hi,
I made the switch to MoneyDance+ in October 2022 and signed up for Plaid payments, only to learn that online bill paying via MD+ and other third parties is no longer supported by my primary bank, Bank of America. I understand that I now need to make online bill payments directly through BOA.
I'm trying to recover my original MD payee list so that I can transfer the payees to BOA. However, with the transition to MD+, I am unable to find the online payee list. Is there a way to retrieve this list?
Thanks,
Rob

Hi Rob,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
You could navigate to Tools -> Address Book in Moneydance, where you have entered your Payees names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses previously. Payees entered into the Address Book can then be selected by clicking the Description field in a transaction and going down to the entries with a green @ symbol in front of them and selecting the payee in your address book.
Once you have added the payee details from the address book, into the transaction description field, you can run a 'Transaction Filter' report, filtering by 'Description'.
I hope this information is helpful, please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Hi Maddy,
I followed your suggestion of trying to report out my payees from the Address Book. Unfortunately, none of my payees appears in the Address Book window.
Is there some other way of recovering my payees list (which was built over years with the earlier MoneyDance versions) so that I can transfer them to my bank so that I can resume paying bills online?
Thanks,
Rob

Rob-
That's really weird--have you verified for certain that BofA does not have the same payee list on their bill pay site? I used Quicken and MD for many years with Chase and throughout the experience Chase always had a mirror image of my payees in my local list, including many that I know for certain were only set up through MD and not on Chase's website. Have you tried contacting BofA to see whether they have resources to recover the list? I know how dismaying that would be if I had to set it up all over again thanks to the bank's deliberate (and without any notice) undermining of online bill paying.
Dan
Edit: I just re-read and see that you just recently migrated to MD so it's possible it just all got lost in the shuffle. Unfortunately all I can offer is my condolences.
