Another Bank of America question
I've seen the stock answer on syncing with BOA.
However, I'd like to know why Acemoney can sync with them and Moneydance can't?
I'd rather use Moneydance, but I don't want to fiddle with advanced options. I'd just like it to work with BOA.
Any fixes in the immediate future?
Thanks.
Sarah

There are two methods that personal finance software can use to access your accounts: direct connect and web connect. With web connect, the software basically connects to your bank's website and downloads and imports OFX, QFX, QIF, and OFC files automatically. Direct connect actually connects to a server at your bank instead of their website and usually requires different login credentials than you would use to log into your banks website. From a user's perspective, these two connections look basically identical. Moneydance only supports automatic connections through direct connect and not web connect. AceMoney is licensing web connect from Quicken, and that's how you're able to access your Bank of America data with that software.
We're currently developing an alternative to web connect with similar functionality, unfortunately I cannot give a timeline towards it's completion though.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance!

Thanks, David. I hope Moneydance will, at some point, be able to use web connect or the alternative.
