Golden 1 appears to have change its online services and the old download connections do not work.

    Hi Chris,

Can you let me know what happens when you try to connect with this bank? Do you receive any error messages? If its easier, can you take a screenshot of the errors? You can read instructions for taking a screenshot here.

Can you also let me know the version of Moneydance you're currently running? To do this, go to Moneydance menu --> About Moneydance.

I disabled the online connection for all the Golden 1 Credit Union accounts since none of them worked anymore. If I try to add a connection now I get a HTTP 404 error for both Golden 1 Credit Union and The Golden 1 Credit Union options.

This is version 2015.8 build 1362

    Hi Donny and Chris,

I've passed this to our connection specialist to look into further, as we may need to make a change to Moneydance to fix the connection issues. I'll keep you updated on the progress within this thread. In the meantime, if you need to download your data, I'd recommend importing the files from your banks website. If you need assistance with this, let me know.

    Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Jenny, thanks for passing this along. I, too, am now getting a 404 error when attempting to connect. I suspect that they have changed their OFX urls. Likely they kept Intuit in the loop so that Quicken would be updated, but they may not have notified you all.

    Hi everyone,

We've updated our connection to Golden 1, so you should be able to connect again. You will need to disable your current connection to your bank and then recreate it using the New Connection button on the Online Banking Setup screen. To do so, you can follow these steps:

    1. Select your bank account in Moneydance

    2. Select the Online->Setup Online Banking button/menu

    3. Click the "Disable" button.  If you don't see a disable button, just close the setup window.

    4. Repeat the previous steps for any additional accounts at the same institution.
    5. Select the Online->Setup Online Banking button/menu (again)

    6. Click the "New Connection" button and select your bank and hit OK
    7. Continue with the setup process, entering your username/password

Make sure you pick new connection, even though your bank is still one of the connection choices after you disable it. Choosing your bank from the list of available banks will force Moneydance to download the updated information, which should then allow you to connect.

Please let me know if you continue to have connection problems after recreating your connection.

Still getting an error but it is a different one.

There was an error communicating with your financial institution. The details of this error are below.

Bank Name: Golden 1 Credit Union

The error code reported by the server was: 15510

Please contact your Financial Institution. The CLIENTUID sent by the client was incorrect.

Can you try completely resetting your connection to your bank and see if that fixes the problem you're seeing? To do this, you'll need to force clear the current connection information for your bank in Moneydance. I'm sending a file called remove_one_service.py that will help do that. Before proceeding, please back up your Moneydance data set, just in case something goes wrong. You can create a backup using the File->"Export Backup" menu option. So far, this hasn't caused any problems, but better safe than sorry!

To use the file, first save it to your computer and then follow these steps:

    1. In Moneydance, click on the Extensions Menu and choose the Manage Extensions option.
    2. From the list of available extensions, choose the Python Interface extension, then click Install to download the extension and finish to complete the installation.
    3. Close the Manage Extensions window.
    4. Again, click the Extensions menu. This time, choose the Python Interface option.
    5. In the python window, click the read from file button and load the file from whereever you saved it. You will be asked to select which connection you want to clear. Choose your bank, and click OK. You'll get a confirmation message when the connection has been removed. Close the window when done.
    6. Set up the connection to your bank like normal. Since all of your settings have been cleared, you should get the most recent connection information for your bank.

Hopefully, that will work. If it doesn't, let me know and we'll continue troubleshooting.

    This works, thank you.

donnyb, I have seen odd issues if you leave an old connection around like when you have multiple accounts to the same institution checking, savings, etc. Try to disabled online backing on all you Golden 1 accounts and close MD. Reopen and then add each one back with the new connection. This is effectively the steps I took, albeit over several days.

donnyb, did you use the remove_one_service_2015.py script I sent you? If so, what happened when you ran that script?

@LanL I did run the script and I removed all bank connections one at a time.

If you try connecting in a completely new Moneydance file, are you able to connect? You can create a new file using the File->New menu option.

Deleting the online connection for all accounts at golden 1, restarting moneydance, then recreating the connections did the trick for me. Fwiw.

donnyb, I've split you last comment off into a private discussion so I can get logs from you and try to diagnose the issue.

I'm going to go ahead and close this discussion since the connection seems to be working for most folks. If anyone else has trouble, please start a new support ticket so we can assist you one-on-one.
