Chase connections
I've been using chase connection for years (AKA Quicken)
Suddenly the following error message:
"There was an error communicating with your financial institution. The details of this error are below.
Bank Name: Chase
Account: Chase Checking
Account Number:xxxxxx my acct
A communication or parsing error occurred. This could be the result of a network problem, a proxy error, or misconfigured server.
Error Description: java.io.IOException: HTTP Error:501 Not"
I have rebooted everything etc. I'm running Moneydance 2014.5 (do I need to upgrade??)

Hi smw2,
I'm getting the same error on MD 2011 and MD 2012.
It's likely a Chase issue. Might be a Sunday maintenance thing or such.
I would give it until the morning and try again.
Don't upgrade unless you understand the changes that were made to MD 2015 and are willing to accept them.

I have been getting a similar message from Chase for a few weeks - error 2000. Once the other accounts download, I can manually trigger a download and it works but the initial one at launch usually struggles.

Hi azguy6,
That is exactly what I've been seeing also. As with you, I can usually get it to connect with a manual trigger. CTRL-D

Hi All,
Still not working as of this writing.
I've attached the relevant information from the console window.

Hi all,
This seems to be an intermittent outage with Chase. As far as I can tell, their connection information and method hasn't changed. I'll keep looking into it from our end, but it would be best to contact them and let them know about the issue also.

Thanks Ian,
Hi All,
Just as an FYI, until this gets resolved. Chase Credit Cards allow for manual downloads of OFX files. They refer to them as the Microsoft Money file format.

Hi All,
It looks like the 'Q' people are having the same issue.

Hi All,
Just tested the Chase Credit Card connection and it appears to be working again.
For now.

This is a problem for me because I'm trying to set up a new connection with Chase. (I'm evaluating MD.) Since I can't connect to Chase, I can't set up the connection, and so I can't do a manual update. (BTW, I'm coming from Quicken -- have not been having any problems with connecting to Chase with that.)

Hello Ashley E,
Can you please go to Help -> Console Window, look at the first line of the output, and report what version of Moneydance you are using?
Can you also please be more specific about how this connection is not working for you? Are you receiving any error messages, and if so, what are they?

Hi Ethan --
I'm using 2015.5 1225 and I was getting Error 2000.
I found this answer: http://help.infinitekind.com/discussions/online-banking/335-chase-bank and it's now working for me. (I went to the Chase website, and went to the page to enable downloading transactions). Even though I was successfully downloading into Quicken, I needed to do this in order to get it to work for MD.

Hi Ashley,
Yes, Chase is definitely one of those banks where you need to activate your accounts for direct connections. I'm glad that you figured this out. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance,
Ethan
