It looks like Discover has changed something again in their download protocol that is breaking the download functionality in Moneydance. For the last two days, I have been receiving the following error when trying to download transactions from my Discover account.

The error code reported by the server was: 2003

Account not found

I'm running the 2017beta that fixed the problem (2017.3(1604)) we were having earlier this year with downloads from Discover, so I'm pretty sure this is a new issue.

    Hi crlinder,

    Try this...

Open Moneydance to your Discover account.
From the menu bar, go to Account > Edit Account.
In the resulting form, check to see if your Account / Card Number has been changed to a more cryptic number beginning with 'Discovr'.

If not, then run the 'Set Up Online Banking' routine again for the account.
When starting the routine, be sure to click the 'New Connection' button. (even though Discover is already listed in the 'Financial Institutions' drop-down list)
Doing so will ensure that you are using the latest connection information.

    So, that was strange.

I followed your instructions and everything seems to be fine now. It did cause my account number--as stored in Moneydance--to be changed to the cryptic version you mentioned instead of my raw number. I'm assuming Discover did that to protect my actual card number and that in so doing they broke the original connection that I had set up.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi crlinder,

You're welcome. I'm glad to hear that it worked.

The change to the account number in Moneydance was unnerving at first. But, as you've deduced, it appears to be an apparent security measure.

So kudos to Discover - no harm, no foul. ;)
