Halifax downloading credits as debits and vice versa
I have read the message forums and tried to solve this problem that other users have had but I don't seem to be getting there.
I have got the text file importer downloaded. I attach a copy of a download

Hi Sarah,
Due to how the amount column of your CSV file is formatted, it will not import properly using the Text File Importer.
That's the bad news. The good news is that there is another extension called the CSV Importer with which I was able to properly import your CSV file.
Can I assume that you are using MD 2015? If so, you can download the CSV Importer v.19 from the developer's website. The file that you need is mdcsvimporter.mxt

When you install the CSV Importer, you will receive an ominous message that the file may not be safe for your computer. You can safely ignore that message. It only means that support staff at The Infinite Kind have not signed off on the code yet.
If you are comfortable with that, then let me know once you have the CSV Importer installed and we can proceed from there.

Hi Sarah,
I suppose that I should mention that you could also edit your CSV file by entering a simple formula so as to change the sign of the entries that are in the Amount column.
You would need to do so each time that you import a file from Halifax though.
Just putting it out there. :)

if it's just a case of needing to flip the sign, -Payment- and -Deposit- are just opposite signs of each other, so simply pick the one that gives you the sign you want in your custom reader.

By downloading the CSV importer and then following the info given to Kate in an earlier 'chat' and the info you gave I have got it successfully up and running. Thank you very much - been putting this off for some time
