Can't separate Capital One 360 Savings downloads from Checking in online access
Using Moneydance 2015.3 (1175) I cannot get my savings accounts set up for Capital One 360 online access - it just downloads my checking info into the savings accounts. I had this working fine in Moneydance 2014.
I have deleted and recreated the savings accounts, generated a new passcode from CapOne's website, deleted/resynced/refreshed the online settings for the savings accounts in Moneydance. When creating the savings accounts, I select New Connection, rather than the Capital One 360 account from the dropdown list, which I assume is associated with my checking account, which works fine.
In the account setup, I made sure that each savings account has the right account number, but I may have messed up the first time I did it and used the checking account number. If so, I can't unnasociate it, no matter how many times I delete/recreate the savings account.

Hi DMR,
I'm going to recommend you try installing this preview build version of Moneydance to take advantage of recent bug fixes, included one may have a positive impact on your inability to set up the next connection.

If it again fails, could you send me the contents of your error console? Here's how to get the logs:
1) In Moneydance, click on the Help menu and select the Console Window option. This will open the console messages window.
2) While the Console Window is open, attempt to connect to your bank. Any error messages should be recorded to the Console.
3) Select all of the text in the Console and use the "Copy to Clipboard" button at the bottom to copy the text.
4) Paste the text from the message window into a text file (preferably saved with a .txt extension) and attach that file to your response here.
The debugging logs that this produces will contain your account information. I've made sure that this conversation is private, so the info won't be broadcast to the world, but just to be safe you should redact any account info in the debug logs. Just replace it with something like "ACCOUNT NUMBER HERE" and it should be fine.
Hope this helps, and feel free to contact me with any questions about this process!

Forgot to add, I did try the preview version and had the same issue.

It is likely that this is a mapping issue. Your accounts are not mapped properly (in other words, one account is pointing to each of your Moneydance accounts).
To fix this, disable the Online Set-up for the problem accounts. Then you will need to re-enable them. Once you have entered your ID and Password click Ok and wait (do not click next). You need to see a window that will display - "Please choose the account you wish to use" - which are your accounts listed in a drop down list. If you bypass this window - your Moneydance Account will map to the first account on this list. Sometimes you will need to just wait for this window to pop-up as it can take several seconds.

I was sure I'd tried that, but I did it again, and made sure to select the
account. It still downloaded my checking transactions to savings. I tried
disabling/reenabling both the checking and savings and still got the same
result.

If you set up just your savings account in a totally new moneydance file, are you able to download the correct transactions? You can create a new file using the File->New menu option.

That did work, and it also made me realize that I hadn't read close enough
in your last email - turns out in my other file, I was not getting that
list of accounts to select from. I was confusing that with the selection
for the accounts set up in Moneydance, not the list presented from
CapitalOne 360, where I have multiple accounts. This time, it presented the
list of my checking and savings accounts at that bank and I was able to
select my correct savings account.
Now the trick is, do I have to recreate all my accounts in a new file, or
can we somehow get the other file fixed?

Hello David,
You should be able to fix all of your accounts in your current data file by following the instructions that Ian gave a few messages ago. Here's what he wrote:

Thanks. I finally got it, by waiting long enough for that drop-down choice.
If I hadn't misinterpreted that the first time, I'd have had it fixed some
time ago.
Thanks for your patience in explaining it. You can update this case to
resolved and close it. :)
