For the past day or two, I get an error whenever I try to download my transactions from E*Trade. Here is the error:
A communication or parsing error occurred. This could be the
result of a network problem, a proxy error, or misconfigured
server.

Me too. Normal Etrade login works fine but I can't download transactions. MD is rejecting Etrade's certificate.
I'm running MD version 2015.5(1225) on Windows 7.

Same problem here also. I'm using the latest MD 2015.5.

Can you try upgrading to the latest preview release of Moneydance from here:
http://infinitekind.com/preview
and see if that fixes the issue that you're seeing?

Can you try re-creating your connection with ETrade? You will need to disable your current connection to your bank and then recreate it using the New Connection button on the Online Banking Setup screen. To do so, you can follow these steps:
Make sure you pick new connection, even though your bank is still one of the connection choices after you disable it. Choosing your bank from the list of available banks will force Moneydance to download the updated information, which should then allow you to connect.
Please let me know if you continue to have connection problems after recreating your connection.

I have the same issue.
I just tried creating a new connection as suggested by Ian. During the new connection creation a dialog appears stating:
I'm sorry, an error occurred: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: No trusted certificate found
Looks like the same issue.
Using 2015.5 on a Mac.

Using the latest preview release (2015 Build 1267 dated August 7th, 2015) and making a new connection as instructed above works as expected.
Thanks,
Vince

Patrick and others,
Could you try build 1267? It should allow you to connect to ETrade.

I bit the bullet and went to 2015/1267 from 2014 (hopefully it doesn't bite me) and it was able to download fine.

The latest preview (build 1267) also worked for me.
Thanks

So, the only solution is to upgrade to a preview release? I'd really prefer
not running my finances on untested software.
When will Q/A testing be finished on the new release?

Hello Ben,
It's really hard to predict these things. It depends on a variety of factors, which in this case will mainly be on if people report back that this update resolves this issue for them. However, there are other things included in the preview releases that people on other threads are similarly testing. I'd be surprised if this was a part of an official release in less than a few weeks.
