Cant connect to chase
Hi,
I have tried to connect with online banking with my Chase account. I did the connection and got the code in the secure messages but it would not connect. Now I just get a error 2000 code.
Thanks
Scot

Chase has numerous security protocols to establish a direct connect. First you have to tell Chase you want to establish a connection. Then when first try to connect with chase you will get an error message. You have to go to their website and check your secure messages. Then you comeback to MD and start to establish the connection from scratch.
After verifying your identity in the secure message center of the Chase website, did you try to recreate the connections again?
I am so sorry their are so many hoops to jump through. Chase really want to make sure it is you making this connection.

Hi Scot,
You need to authorize your account at Chase for desktop apps.
The setting to do so is rather hidden on their website. If you need a hand finding it, let me know and I'll try to walk you through it.
Then, as Moneydance support staffer Tom Freeman mentioned, you'll have to verify your identity via the secure message center.
Finally, set up the connection in Moneydance.

I have searched everywhere and cannot find anything that authorizes other
apps. If you know where to look it would greatly appreciated!!

Hi Scot,
These instructions are for the Chase Visa website, I'll have to assume that they are the same or similar for Chase Banking.
Log onto the Chase website.
In the upper right-hand corner, click on the head & torso icon.
From the resulting drop-down list, click on 'More Settings'.
In the resulting webpage, look to the column on the left and click on'Desktop apps'.
I'm not 100% sure what happens next as my account is already authorized but I'm sure that it is self-explanatory.
Once you've authorized the account, you may need to verify your identity. You'll be sent an email from Chase explaining how to do so.
If memory serves me correctly, this email will be sent after you try to connect to Chase with Moneydance. (Moneydance will likely throw some kind of error)
After you verify your identity, you should then be able to connect to Chase with Moneydance. (without any errors).
Let us know how you make out. OK?

I found it. Chase wants to charge me 9.95 a month for Direct connect.
Unless I did something wrong thats all I see. Quicken or Countabout don't
have me jump thru these hoops. Thanks for trying for me.

Hi Scot,
From what I've read on these forums, the $9.95 per month fee only pertains to business accounts. Of course that may have changed.
There is no monthly fee for the Chase Visa account.

Hi, I'm having the same problem connecting to Chase for my visa account downloads. I've disabled the accounts and followed all the steps described in the discussion so far, including reading and deleting my secure message. Still, when I try to establish a new connection, I'm getting this:
"I'm sorry, an error occurred: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: No trusted certificate found"
What to do? Thank you!

Hi jkl,
What version and build number of Moneydance are you using?
e.g. MD 2017.7.1 (1671)
(Moneydance menu bar > Help > About Moneydance)

Hi jkl,
Try updating to the latest build of MD 2015 - MD 2015.8 (1372)
Provided that you did NOT purchase Moneydance through the Apple store, you can d/l MD 2015 here:
http://infinitekind.com/download_2015
If that doesn't work, you have 2 options.
1) Manually d/l your data from the Chase website.
2) Upgrade to MD 2017. There may or may not be a charge to do so. Check by entering your license key in the 'Upgrading' field here:

Judy
Your 2015 purchase entitles you to a free upgrade to MD 2017. You can get the latest build from here: http://infinitekind.com/preview
This will help with up to date security certificates.
