MoneyDancePlus - Review
Right after I got set up on MoneyDance+, one of the customer service reps gave me a link to write a review. I thought it was too soon to write a review so I didn't. I've been using MoneyDance+ for a couple of months and I have enough information now to write a review. It is attached. If you would rather I post it someplace else, send me a like and I will post it there.
Thanks!
Dave
MoneyDancePlus Review:;
I switched to MoneyDancePlus after 25 years with Quicken. I stayed with Quicken for so long just because I had 25 years of data in Quicken. Switching to Money Dance was tricky. Money Dance requires you to use the OTP to start with but my bank and credit card didn’t have OTP so I wasn’t able to download any transactions (or count them as being entered) for 30 days. At the end of 30 days, it took my some time to figure out how to set up the syncing with my bank. To the best of my understanding, I was doing it correctly. I kept communicating with the customer service (Money Dance / Infinite Kind) actually has one and they are very patient) which was refreshing after dealing with Quicken for so many years. In the end, it seemed that the best way to sync – after I was sure I was set up correctly – was to open up Money Kind and keep it open for 10 – 15 minutes for the first week or so before trying to sync. I read online that other money managing programs had the same issue and that’s why I decided to try that. I may have been wrong. Now, after a couple of months, I don’t seem to have to wait to download my transactions. I was dreading downloading 30 days of transactions but I was careful to enter all of my transactions while I was waiting and I was able to merge the transaction that was downloaded into the transaction that was already in the computer and I was done in about 15 minutes. Usually when I went on vacation and had to download transactions into computer from a couple of weeks of being gone, it seemed like it took hours and was a long process. With MoneydancePlus, it was much easier.
I stayed with Quicken for 25 years. I’m looking forward to staying with Money Dance for the next 25 years. I liked that they are computer based. Everyone else wants you to have web-based data or an APP on your phone. I want my data on my phone and my backup on a USB drive. That is my preference. I am in the process of switching from Windows to Linux and am pleased that I will be able to take MoneyDance+ with me to Linux as I go.
If you try Money Dance, be patient with the set up process. It is worth it once your are set up. I wish I had found them sooner.
