Like the New Reporting A lot

All,
I just recently updated to Moneydance 2010 and am still learning the changes, but just wanted to send a quick note about how much I like the new reporting. The ability to essentially do a table of accounts down the side and months across the top (and then fritz around with it more in Excel) is exactly what I was hoping would be in it. It will be great for year end '09 to year end '08 comparisons here in a few days.

Not pressing, but I do have a question of how long to keep the same file open, before starting a new one. You can manipulate the computers date to make "this year" and "last year" cover a lot of ground. It appears it might allow you to choose dates beyond that for export as well, but if not, maybe now that I have 2 years of data in, It's time to start a new file?

And last, not unlike the sentiments expressed on some other forums, I'm okay with charging for upgrades if you keeps you around longer. I used the old MacMoney for about 8 years before they went out of business, and orphaned financial software is not good. I used Quicken for a year or two and it was so awful, I gave up till I found Moneydance, so please keep it going!

The ability to essentially do a table of accounts down the side and months across the top - how do you do that? Is it just for bank accounts? I want to produce a report that has all my bank / credit card / asset / liability accounts down the side and a list of end of month balances across the top. I can do it by exporting the balances each month to Excel, just wondered if it was possible in MD. I have looked, but no luck so far!

//I was only looking at income and expense accounts, which it does very nicely, and I ddn't notice that bank accounts weren't in there, so that would be a good add. It would be nice if asset and liability accounts could be included in the account balance report selection. You can graph it one account at a time in the Account Balance Graph selection for a fairly quick look, by picking for example, Last 12 months, Checking, group by month, so the program can get to the data, it just needs to be added to the report format.
