I am now in the demo mode of MoneyDance (looking to change from Quicken 2007) and I am very impressed with MoneyDance and ESPECIALLY this user forum. Cudos to the staff at MoneyDance for their great interaction with its users. This adds great value to the differentiation from other Mac financial software applications.

Thanks for the words of praise! We're working hard to accommodate all of the new users coming from Quicken 2007 right now, including the flood of new suggestions. Thanks for trying us out!

I am also in Demo mode. The data didn't come over totally clean. I exported to a QIF and imported that. Any suggestions on how to get a cleaner import of 20+ years of financial quicken data?

We have a preview version of Moneydance (that is totally safe to use) that includes a new QIF import algorithm that takes into consideration of some of the Quicken 2007 for Mac QIF peculiarities.

You can download it from here:
    http://moneydance.com/tmp/daily/installers/792/MacOS_X/

Once you have the preview installed create anew blank MD data file (File->New...) and perform the import again.

Be sure to follow the instructions in the following article.
    http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/importing-from-quicken-or-ms-money/...

I'd love to hear if this improves the import for you.

    Sincerely

I didn't do the above, but I did change the account name to something that didn't match the category names and the data seemed to come over clean with one exception. that one exception is due to a crazy issue in Schwab where it downloaded dividends, then negative dividends to offset those, and then the same dividends as reinvestment dividends. That seemed to confuse MD quite a bit. Once I changed the middle set from dividends (where it had negative numbers), to miscexpense, it seemed to work.

After I get some sleep, I might try the above. but right now I have moved onto the online issue. When I connect to BOA and Schwab, only one account is there to choose from, vs. all the accounts/subaccounts I have. I posted this earlier and will wait for a response
