Duplicated entry

Hi there,
I Have just completed the transfer of all my MS Money data into MoneyDance, all balances are correct and the DropBox sync works faultlessly. I am running both MoneyDance and MS Money in parallel for a week or two before switching the Microsoft product off and using only MoneyDance. There is just one unsettling issue to look at before I can do this.
I entered a new transfer of £100 from one account to another and it correctly appeared as it should in boith sender account and receiver account, both on the Pc and on my Apple devices. The next day, there was a duplicate next to the original transaction.
I deleted it on my iPad and it correctly synced and disappeared from the Pc and iPhone sync.
The next day it came back again. This time I deleted it on my Pc and it has stayed gone. What worries me is whether this is just a function of importing all 72 accounts from their Loose QIF files and that it won't appear again, or whether this is something in the software that I don't know about. Perhaps someone can come back to me on this.

    Hi,

Can you please verify the version of Moneydance you are running. To do this run Moneydance and from the menu bar select Help->Console Window... Then copy and paste the output of the console window to this discussion.

    Thanks!

    Hi There David,

As you asked, I have pasted the image here. Its 2015.5.(1225)
The duplicate entry hasn't appeared again so I am confident in going up to W10 now. I have exported, archived, backed up and copied all relevant folders onto external storage ready to re-install MoneyDance and import the data back in again.

    Thanks

    Hello Tony,

I'm glad to hear that things seem to be working now. Definitely let us know if this happens again, and we'll try to sort out what is going on.

Just to make sure before you upgrade, your main data file is by default created in a location described at http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/moneydance-2015/where-is-my-data-st..., which is what you want to make sure to backup.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance,

    Ethan

Just one thing I am not sure if you realise, I certainly didn't - Once Windows 10 was fully upgraded, MoneyDance just continues to work, no re installation or data restore or anything at all. it all just works as it did before the upgrade. In fact everything works, anything at all needed re installing.
    Many thanks

    Hello Tony,

That's great to hear, and how upgrades to operating systems should work under ideal conditions. However, they can also result in having to completely wipe the whole system if something goes wrong (in fact, they are probably the main ways all data could be lost), so it is always a good idea to back up your critical data first. I'm glad to hear things went so smoothly for you.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance,

    Ethan
