Re: Using Microsoft One Drive to backup to the Cloud [Suggestions #16308]
And I am also employing a copy command that copies the MD data folder
LOCATION to the system
memory on my old computer. Then I
plug in my USB flash drive causing
Windows to automatically open the
its ’File Explorer.’ By opening the
‘File Explorer,’ I see the drive letter
for the USB device. The I double
click on the driver’s name to see left
panel under ‘This PC.’ Then right
click the white space on the drive
and click paste (pasting the
‘personal finances.moneydance
folder on the flash drive). Are you
saying such a placement is only
of a copy of the data folder on the
flash drive? The ‘File Explorer
should still be open on the USB
drive so I right click on the USB
drive, select “eject” of “safely
remove,” wait for a confirmation
message and remove the USB
flash drive stick. At this point
does the flash drive stick have a
copy or the original folder? Next,
I plug the flash drive into the
USB port on my new computer.
Again, Windows should open
automatically ‘File Explorer’ as
the thumb drive is inserted. By
opening the ‘File Explorer,’ you
see the drive letter for the USB
device. On a Windows 11
computer, you might need to
open the ‘File Explorer’ by
clicking the ‘start’ icon at the
bottom of your Windows 11
screen and then click on ‘File
Explorer.’ Lastly, I navigate to the
‘docements’ folder on the new
computer. Click on ‘documents’
folder. Right click on the
‘documents’ folder. Click on
‘show more options.’ Click on
‘send to options.’ Select
‘documents’ folder. This should
place the ‘personal finances.
moneydance’ folder from the
flash drive in the ‘documents’
folder on the new computer.
Then, I right click on the USB
drive, select “eject” or “safely
remove,” wait for confirmation
message and physically
remove the flash drive stick.

Move the actual contents of the
‘personal documents.moneydance’
folder to a flash drive or just the
original; does it make any
difference?
