Sorry - I think what I should have said is Quotes & Exchange Rates Updater no longer works....Started using Quotes Loader, but dont like it as much

QER has not worked since a problem was created by Yahoo, I think in April.
Quote Loader had the same issue but was fixed/updated in May to accommodate Yahoo's (unwelcome) changes.
There is no announced timeline for when QER will work again.

Q & ER is maintained by TIK (Moneydance) themselves, hence support will have to provide any updates regarding an update to this extension for the Yahoo issue.
Quote Loader does work as dtd indicates.

Unfortunately we are unable to provide an ETA for a permanent solution at present, but please be assured that the development team are currently working on this issue and we will notify you on this thread as soon as the fix is released.

All I can say is that the developer has not requested any testing of an update.

Adding my reply to subscribe for updates. Quote Loader works, but Q&ER seems to be more robust in terms of data saved to the securities in MD. Hopefully there will be a fix soon. Thank you.

Can you outline why you think Quote Loader is not robust in saving data to securities, possibly providing examples. Mike the developer is always open to making improvements were possible.

Fair question, although I may have been mistaken. For example, Q&ER updates prices, it automatically adds the current and historical prices to the security in MD. At first, it appeared QL was not doing this. After a couple tries, and updating the prices, selecting save data, it appears the current and historical prices have been added to the securities. It now appears to work consistently, as long as I click the correct boxes. User error?

Quote Loader is designed so you can see the results of clicking GET PRICES so you can determine if you want to save all or some of the prices retrieved to Moneydance.
The SELECT ALL LINES button selects all line to be saved, but instead you can tick the boxes individually if you only want to save some prices. Once you have made your selections simply click SAVE SELECTED LINES to save the prices to Moneydance.
If you have not already I suggest you take a look at the Quote Loader PDF for information on all it features such as its ability to use different sources for each security and automatic running see post 103 at https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/discussions/investments/7595-quo...
Download the PDF’s attached to post 103 and have a read.
To get an overview take a look at the YouTube videos by using the links on page 1 and 2 of the PDF.
The Quick Start Video is intended to give a quick overview so the user can see if Quite loader looks like it could work for them. The Short Video expands the user’s knowledge giving more detail. The Full Video goes even further but may be to wordy for some.
The PDF reinforces what’s leaned in the videos, provides step by step instructions, a must read and provide answers on how to handle less obvious issues some users may come across.

Thank you. After reading through it and setting up things as I would like them, it works as I expected it would. No issues, and a more than capable replacement for Q&ER.
