Updating Moneudance 2015 to 2024

Hello,

   I've bought update moneydance from 2015 to 2024;
Tried to updte but all the reminders that wasn't close on date have been added so that all my accounts are wrong.
I've got to get a Moneydance folder up to date with my accounts but doesn't know how to get it started at first on the new moneydance 2024.
Folder name is Finances-20170917-2239.moneydance and is placed on a usb key , but doesn't know where to place it on the pc to get moneydance starting directly with it.

   You do not say but the way you are talking I suspect you are using Windows.

   The default location for data files is C:\User\YourUserName\.moneydance\Documents\

   If you put it here when you open Moneydance it should be in the list the software displays, once opened Moneydance can remember it as the last data file that was opened and open it each time you start the program.

    A great THANKS for your help.
   Sorry I've forgot to confirm using W11 on my PC and W10 on my laptop.
   I've done what you told me but the software continued to open the wrong file.
   As I , for a long time , made 2 backups/Day to my OneDrive\Moneydance folder the software continued to charge the wrong file in my Onedrive\Moneydance folder.
   I've deleted all moneydance backups (I also had someone in my Dropbox folder).
   Now everything seems to work perfectly again , like it did since many years .
   But now I'm again at the same point before I've bought Moneydance 2024 to update the software because;

   -I've bought a laptop and now would like to have Moneydance 2024 on both of them and naturally , most important, synchronise from one to other.
   -How to proceed to update Moneydance from my PC from 2015 to 2024 ?
   -how to "properly" install Moneydance 2024 on my new Laptop (I've already try to install 2015 and seems to work properly on it)
   -how to synchronise between both PCs , just confirm "synchronise over Dropbox" ?

   For syncing your Moneydance data between systems look at the Knowledge Base article

   You should be able to perform a data in place upgrade from Moneydance 2015 to 2024 by just installing the new version over the top of the old.

   The syncing instructions provide the information on setting up the second machine with sync data.
