Transaction Filter Report and Memo field
I upgraded to 2024 version and discovered that all my Transaction Filter reports that search based on Memo field no longer have anything in the report. Are we no longer able to do Transaction Filter reports based on the Memo field? I know there are other ways to do this with tags, but that might be substantial work to update all my reports. I can do advanced search and use the Memo field as a search parameter and it works, but when I use the "Generate Report" field, the report is empty.

Ive reported this issue twice but havent had any kind of response.
Whats going on?

Appears a lot of activity in just the past week or so.... fixes to Transaction Filter/Memo fields due out in soon to be released 5144

Works for me. Build 5142. Searched for Dividend in memo field got a LOT of hits.

Basically I beleive it would have (probably) worked on account to account txfrs, but unlikely where a category was involved.
Never-the-less, it’s been fixed for the next alpha / preview.

@Stuart, just FYI, almost all the found memos were income in the dividend category, not account -> account transfers. Unless it was confusing category with dividend.

FYI. In PREVIEW 5145 there is now an option to the right of the description field to tick and enable the search to also search the memo field(s). Ie it will search both description and memo field(s) in one filter (rather than two separate filters). This should avoid confusion on which field to filter and will allow better use or and/or criteria.
(Note: I haven’t personally tested this yet)

Seems to work as does entering the required narrative in the Memo box without ticking the "include Memo" box.

Forget I said it works - it doesn't! At least not always.
I managed to get it to run correctly for the words "DIVIDEND REIT" but it returned nothing at all for the words "DIVIDEND TRUST" which it should have done.
I tried both with separate MEO field entries and ticking the box but naddah!! The newly created identical report for Reit Dividends works correctly.
Still broken I think
If you still have my data try it on that for yourself

As a side note I do not see Moneydance ever being directly involved with Open Banking.
The requirements I see in Australia generally preclude a smaller company getting directly involved. Open Banking also means country by country involvement. Hence I would expect that Moneydance will have to use an aggregator that does the leg work and incurs the costs to become and remain an approved data recipient in various countries.
I have not seen any recent comments on the progress of Moneydance+ support outside of North America.

Memo lookup didn’t work in 5145 but 5146 popped up immediately and that seems to work!

I know they were looking to use PLAID as Sage do but it was too expensive.

Strange as that (desc/memo search) did not change between 5145 and 5146. So, are you sure it’s working ok?

Yes Plaid proved to be not a viable solution outside of North America.
I'm sure price was an issue but also looking at Plaid they support very few countries so they do not really have the sort of coverage that a program like Moneydance needs.

@Michael - strange. I tested your searches on your dataset and both memo and the desc (with memo ticked) worked OK...

I couldn't make it work on 45 but it definitely works on 46 - also it was 46 that had the memo tick box option noted in the change log
