Hi.
I'm new to MD. I downloaded trial version and played with it and just purchased the license for it.
I've created some accounts from scratch and I've also imported them from Money and I've also downloaded transactions from my bank directly.
The problem is in the trial version all the categories were there; however, now there are NONE. How do I get them back? I'm talking like Utilities, groceries, etc, so I can keep track.
Please help....
Thank you!

I've read about the standard set when creating files, etc, in previous posts. I've created 10 accounts and I don't want to redo them. How do I ensure that the "standard set" formats are selected for these accounts? I didn't start a new file since I had one to import.

The only way to create the standard set of categories is when you create your data file. Typically the process is to create a new data file with the standard account and category set and then import your existing transaction data into that.

Providing you are not using any investment accounts one way to achieve what you are looking for would be to export you data from Moneydance into a qif file. By selecting File->Export. Then create a new Moneydance data file with the standard account set by selecting File->New. And then import the QIF file you created into the new Moneydance file by selecting File->Import->QIF. When you import the QIF file be sure to set the options "New account" and "From another program" on the import options window.
