program just flashes and won't load on windows 11
I upgraded to windows 11 and had the program working just fine but went to open it this morning and it just flashes on the screen momentarily and won't run. I am using moneydance 2017. I have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling but still have the same problem. Would I have the same problem if I download the newest version? I have uninstalled the program for right now.

Hi Ronald,
Some things to check...
See if Moneydance is running in the Task Manager.
See if Moneydance is running minimized.
If you had recently installed a second monitor and subsequently removed it, check to see if Moneydance is rendering off-screen.
You certainly can try installing the newest version (without paying for it) and see if it resolves the issue.

Thank you for responding, I have added a 2nd monitor but it isn't opening on either screen.I still the files on a flash drive when I went to the new computer. Should I use them when I try the new version of Moneydance?

As a test I would be inclined to bypass Moneydance's current configuration file and see if the software then works correctly.
On Windows, it should be located under your login directory at:
C:\Users\(yourusername)\.moneydance\config.dict
Once you've found your config.dict file, ensure Moneydance is closed and rename the file (to something like config_org.dict, for example)
Once you have renamed the config.dict file, open Moneydance again and it will appear as though you've just installed Moneydance for the first time and may have to locate and open your data set again.
Now try the operation you were having trouble with and see if it works as expected.
If it does you can continue using the new configuration file by while viewing your data file, choose Help --> Register Moneydance and enter your license key.
It is generally not viable to edit and repair the config.dict file by hand.
If you run into any problems, you can simply close Moneydance and rename config_org.dict file back to config.dict and open Moneydance again to restore your original settings.

I just decided to buy the 2024 version and when it loaded I was able to get
the program to run and even bring up all my account information. Thank you
for your responses.
