I am having trouble connecting to Vanguard to download transactions. I can login to the Vanguard site with my username and password, but when I try to use this to connect through MD it says that my signon is invalid (username or password/PIN invalid. Can anyone help with this? It looks like others are downloading from Vanguard.

Is your bank setup for Direct Connect? Most banks charge a fee for Direct Connect.

You need to call Vanguard and ask them to set your account for Direct Connect for Quicken. Most banks do not support MD, but MD uses the same protocols for Direct Connect as Quicken.

Moneydance connects to Vanguard for free via Direct Connect. It's been working for us since the day that we bought Moneydance.

Since you're having problems, try manually setting up the banking connection, using the information for Vanguard as listed in the chart on this GnuCash web page:

James is right. You very likely need to call Vanguard and ask them to set up your account for direct connections. If you still can't connect after you've talked to them and gotten your account activated, let us know and we'll try to figure out what's going on.
