Discover Card downloading CSV with charges as payments

How can I batch change all the transactions of my Discover Card? they have payments as charges and charges as payments. how can MD change all transactions ?

   Hi James,
   Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

   • I've attached a file called "reverse_txn_amounts.py" that should correct the problem for you. When running this script on your file it will reverse the transactions' value of the account you select.

   Please follow the steps below:

   1) Make a backup of your data file (just in case!) using the File -> Export Backup menu
   2) Select the Window -> Show MoneyBot Console
   3) In the window that appears, click the Open Script button and select the file that is attached to this message called 'reverse_txn_amounts.py'.
   4) Click the "Run" button
   5) Restart Moneydance

   I would keep the backup made in step 1 around for a while until you're sure that everything is in order. Please do let us know if you have any trouble with the script or if it doesn't solve the problem.

   Generally, you should use the Moneydance default CSV tool and ensure that the amount field and the debit field are reversed. In this way, the amounts should be imported to the correct columns with the correct settings.

   In conclusion, when you are setting up the CSV import as displayed here

   You should select the fields exactly in this order (only the first time you import a csv file from Discover), after that Moneydance should remember your settings and it will become easier.

   Alternatively, (if you own a license of Moneydance 2022/2023/2024) you can subscribe to Moneydance+. This is the new (optional) subscription service that allows you to download transactions from your banks using the Plaid aggregator. You can read more about Moneydance+ in this blog post.
   The steps for setting up this service are outlined here.
   There is a 30-day free trial so you can fully test downloading from your bank before you're charged.
   Also, when you are running one of these versions, you can install the Toolbox via Extensions->Manage Extensions and use the Toolbox FIX: Reverse Transaction Amounts (reverse_txt_amounts.py).
