Lost product license
Hello,
I have been using Mondydance for years and suddenly today the app tells me I have an unlicensed copy. I always purchase the updates when available to stay current but this has never happened before. Can you help?

You likely have a 2022 license, good for 2022/2023, and you upgraded to 2024, which would not recognize the license you currently have.
You can either upgrade to 2024/2025 at a significant discount by entering your current license number at the update area, or you can downgrade back to the version that did recognize your license.

When I go to About Moneydance the license number does not appear. That was how I would check for update eligibility.

The license number does not appear, but is still in the data file.
If you still have a 2023 version (or can download it from "previous versions"), it should show up again since you are licensed with that year (assumed).
Also, given you do have 2024 in unregistered mode - there should be an upgrade or purchase button to the far right of where it says "unregistered"...you can click upgrade and it should take you to the upgrade page, while also recognizing you did/do have a license, thus giving you the discount.

This is getting aggravating. I just restored from my backup of last Thursday and it still says I have an unlicensed version.

I have a printed copy of the license from the original purchase in April of 2020. When I enter that number it says the license is not correct.

I didn't say restore from backup - I said the license is "still in there" - and if you opened your dataset with AN OLDER VERSION of MD, it should then show the license.
As for April 2020, well that would be an even older license (2020/2021) and if you have no other, you should have been in demo mode a lot longer, if the license is not correct, maybe you mistyped it?
I can show you how to locate it in the config.dict file if needed, but I was trying to give you an easy way... including just hitting upgrade. Question - when you go to Moneydance/About and see unregistered, what version at least are you using???

I found the lost license email request on the purchase screen. The system emailed my my current license number which covers 2024. When I entered the license number it successfully registered with no upgrade fee. I have no idea of why the system lost my current license number but my problem seems to be solved.
