Downloaded transaction get wrong categories
Mac 10.5.6, Moneydance 2008r3(629). Lately when I download from the internet my transaactions, anything that should be in the category "Kaiser" (health plan) winds up in the category "24-hour fitness". Suddenly my copays are no longer deductible. Help? How do I correct this?

Hi Neil
Are you saying that the automatic suggestion that Moneydance is producing is not the one you were expecting? Or are you saying that you are setting the category to "Kaiser" and it is then changing to "24-hour fitness" at some later point?
The auto suggestion matching algorithm uses your previous transactions to make a best guess as to the category you want for the current transaction. You do not need to accept this suggestion, at download time you can change the category to the one you want and over time Moneydance will "learn" to better make suggestions that match your preferences.
If you have a number of transactions with incorrect categories already existing select all that you want to change and right click select "Batch Change" to change the category to the appropriate one. It can be helpful to sort the transactions by category to make selecting them at the same time an easier process.
Sincerely
Ben Spencer
