Transaction Batch Change > Date option leaves one transaction hanging
When using Batch Change to change a group of transactions dates it seems one transaction although correctly changed is left in its original position on screen. Therefore you need to select the column date sort to have it correctly sequenced in date order.
Not a major problem but for sure an inconvenience.
Thank you.

Hi David,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
You should 'right click' (or press Ctrl and click) on any transaction to view the context menu then choose Choose Sort By+ the criteria you prefer. Close and restart Moneydance to retain the change.
Also, you can refer to this article of the Knowledge Base.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

Hi Maddy
Thank you but perhaps I haven't explained the problem correctly. The
three transactions circled in RED along with the single transaction also
marked RED were part of one Batch Change update to change the date from
the 2nd August to the 4th August. The update went as planned and all 4
transactions had the new date set. But for some reason the single
transaction marked RED and highlighted BLUE was not moved down the date
sequence as the other three were. It is left sitting between 1st and 2nd
of August?
As I say not a big problem but confusing and inconvenient.
Kind Regards
David Potter

Did you leave the transaction set, and return, or maybe if that doesn't fix it, did you close and reopen moneydance to look again?

I know, hitting date/sort is easier than the above, but I was just seeing if it was a refresh issue...

Interesting issue. Several points.
Can you reproduce? If so…
do again. Take screenshot. Then right click the errant txn and show record details. Copy that info and paste/upload here.
also grab help/console and upload that here too

Also MD version and the OS you are using might provide a clue or two.
(Although I think console does provide that)

Hi All
Thanks for your help with this. Windows 11 and MD 2024.2 (5142)
Yes it is reproducible, I made a test this morning, attached images show
the results. Slightly different outcome but still an issue as I see it.
Closing and restarting MD of course solves the problem.
First image > select 4 transactions to batch change
Second image > choose change to date
Third image result., this time more rows are left stranded, closing and
restarting solves the problem.
Let me know if I can help further...
Kind Regards

As per Stuart:
do again. Take screenshot. Then right click the errant txn and show record details. Copy that info and paste/upload here.
also grab help/console and upload that here too
The screenshots show it is reproducible, the record details and console will help with analysis. So, you probably need to "do it again" but include the above detailed info so stuart can look it over. Gotta know "why" in order to fix.

I hope this is what you are after...
I got a little out of sync so Batch Change 3 shows one of the Record
Details that gets left behind in the date order.
Thanks All

Record details is obtained by going to the transaction, hitting, right click, then Raw Details at the bottom.

Hi dtd
Okay this is from the transaction that formed one of the group of
transactions that got stranded. The transaction marked in image
BatchChange3
Of course it sits correctly now in date sequence as I have closed and
reopened MD. The text is below. If you need me to repeat the whole thing
again let me know.

Stuart will need to jump in now, but it is very late in his evening (UK based) so may be some hours from now.

No obvious errors. I’ll have to test it myself.

I confirm it's a (small) issue and I can reproduce. The data is fine, a screen refresh of some sort is needed...
