Unable to install Forecast having moved Moneydance to a new PC
Hi, I have recently moved my copy of Moneydance 2021.1 (3069) to a new Mac book. After a few issues it works fine, however the Forecast extension has stopped working with a message saying my trial has ended. I still have the Foresight key, but when I input the key I get an error saying unable to validate. I suspect that this is because the moneyforesight.com website is no longer reachable. Is there anyway to install foresight on my new machine? Foresight is the moist useful part of the software for me.

Foresight is also important to me. It's now part of MoneyDance under tools. No need to install extension

Hi phil,
Starting with Moneydance 2022, Money Foresight is included free with the program.
Your current Moneydance License key for MD 2021 may (or may not) entitle you to upgrade for free to MD 2022.
I would NOT attempt the following if you purchased Moneydance through the Apple Store as installing MD 2022 will likely overwrite your version of MD 2021 and should the license key not work, I'm not sure how you would go about getting MD 2021 again from the Apple Store.
Having said that, and ONLY if you purchased Moneydance through the Infinitekind website, you could try downloading MD 2022 and see if your current license key works with MD2022.
(I'm NOT referring to the Foresight key, I'm referring to the Moneydance License key)

If your Moneydance License key does work, you're in luck. If it doesn't, you can always reinstall MD 2021. (Again, ONLY if you purchased Moneydance through the inifinitekind website.)
Of course, you could always upgrade to the latest version of Moneydance but first, you should try plunking your current Moneydance License key into the "Upgrading" field of the following webpage to see if you're entitled to a discount.

Or you could tell us the first four characters of your license key and we can probably tell you what versions of Moneydance it is valid for.

My Moneydance key is F219... I haven't checked what versions it is valid for, the key was purchased on 26th Feb 2021.
The version of Moneydance that I have (2021.1(3069) ) is successfully installed on my new Mac, the problem is that when I try and activate the Foresight add-on using the Foresight key (6039.......) the key will not validate, possibly because the money foresight.com website is no longer reachable.?
Is there anyway I can activate Foresight within the installed Moneydance on my new machine? I'd rather just activate Foresight if I can, rather than do a complete reinstallation on my new machine. Foresight and Moneydance still work (albeit slowly) on my ageing Mac mini which I'd like to decommission.

F219 is a Moneydance 2019 license it is valid for Moneydance versions 2019, 2020 & 2021.
I do not recall exactly how Foresight was licensed but I would at least think you would need a matching version of Foresight to the license you have for it, which I would think it much older than the version available from the extensions download.
You could try coping the extension itself from your old Mac and using that, it would be in the fmodules folder.
For information Foresight was first bundled into Moneydance 2022.

@Phil, the F2192 keys are only good for MD 2019, 2020, 2021. You must have purchased it before MD 2021 was released.
I think you are right about the foresight web site and I don't know of a work around. I might suggest taking advantage of using your old key to get a half price update to MD 2024. https://infinitekind.com/purchase
Go to the bottom of the page and enter your existing MD key for the discount. Half price every 4 years or so is a reasonable cost for keeping the program running. (IMHO)
