Suddenly downloads freeze

Using 2024.2 on MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1.
Until this morning, no problems. Suddenly can't download files or MD freezes on "Finished writing sync data".
Am using Moneydance+. Has something suddenly changed, please?
I've tried downloading a clean copy of 2024.2, but same problem.
Total freeze; re-boot of computer necessary, therefore unusable for downloads. Data entry still works.
